Feature: Let’s Rank Marvel Phase One

Hello there. Your favorite Swed is back again with another post. However, instead of reviewing a Superman movie, (which my three previous one been.) I’m going to give you a top list of Marvel’s Phase One. Before you think about doing a rage comment or two down below, let’s remember that this is just one person’s preference. If you feel different, comment below and let me know. I would love to hear it.  With that said, let’s get going.

6. Iron Man 2.

When I started working on this list, this was not the movie that I thought would be in the downright bottom. However, the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. The reason for this is rather simple. Iron Man 2 is probably. Why? Iron Man 2 is the only one in Marvels phase one that feels more like an advertisement for a certain crossover, and not it’s own movie.

5. Captain America: The First Avenger

O boy, here we go. Yes, I’m not a big fan of this movie, and the reason is rather simple. I have never enjoyed Captain America when he is in World War II. My favorite Captain America stories have always been when he is with the Avengers. Steve Rogers World War II has always been too cheesy for me, and his origin movie is no exception.

4. The Incredible Hulk

We all have movies that we think is underrated. The Incredible Hulk is one of mine. The reason I put it this “low” on the list though is that of the change they made to Hulks character (reason for his transformation). I can also add that I’m one of the few that prefer Edward Norton over Mark Ruffalo (but that doesn’t mean I think Ruffalo is bad)

3. Thor

The first Thor movie is probably the most overlooked of all Marvel movies and not just phase one. Yes, the movie has a couple of annoying moments (or should I say annoying character?), but I love the Shakespearian feel and execution that Thor has. I guess that should not be a surprise to a director such as Kenneth Branagh. The chemistry between Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, and Tom Hiddleston is what sells the movie.

1. The Avengers & Iron Man

I know that this might be cheating. But the more I thought about what place to put them the more difficult it got. Iron Man 1, is the solo movie that clicked with me the most (have I said that I’m a big Batman fan?) but Avengers have something special over it, with seeing all these characters together.  I love both of them equally but for different reasons.
