Joivan Wade Cast As Cyborg on DC Universe’s Doom Patrol

With the arrival of DC Comics new streaming service DC Universe, we will get new original content for the plattform such as ‘Titans’ and ‘Swamp Thing’ we will also get a Doom Patrol series. We now have confirmation that Cyborg is joining the roster.

The actor Joivan Wade, most known for his role in ‘The First Purge’ has now been cast as Victor Stone aka Cyborg in ‘Doom Patrol’.

Warner Bros Television and DC Comics released a pressrelease about the casting and his role:

“Cyborg’s role in Doom Patrol promises to be much meatier, though exactly what form it will take is still uncertain. In the show’s description, it’s suggested that the Doom Patrol will be called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with “a mission that’s hard to refuse, but with a warning that’s hard to ignore.”

They also state that fans of the comics will be pleased by this rendition of the character:

“Doom Patrol’s take on the classic character seems to be right in line with what fans of the comics will be expecting. Described as charming and sarcastic, Vic may be connected to every computer on the world, but he struggles to maintain the connections that make him human. Desperate to gain acceptance from the outside world, Vic harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age. ”

‘Doom Patrol’ will be produced by Geoff JohnsGreg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter while Jeremy Carver will be the show-runner.

No release-date is set for ‘DC Universe’ and ‘Doom Patrol’.
