Feature: Five Reasons for Robert Pattinson as Batman

Last week I talked about Ben Affleck not being in the Matt Reeves directed Batman movie. Now that it’s official he won’t return, there’s rumors and fan casting going around for RobertĀ Pattinson as Batman. There’s many reasons he could be gold in the role, but here’s five.

1. Box Office Draw

The first reason is his box office pull. Sure, he did the Twilight movies, and yes they ranged from okay to garbage. But they still made a ton of money, and that is something Warner Bros is aware of. You should never underestimate an actor’s Box Office draw.

2. Acting Prowess

The second reason is his acting talents. Again, say what you will about the Twilight movies, but his later work has been nothing more than stellar. Like in movies such as Lost City of Z, Good Time and Damsel, he’s extraordinary. We also know that he is no stranger to big action blockbusters because of his work in the Twilight franchise.

3. He Has The Look

The third reason which is his looks. I can picture his face under that cowl, and he would also be able to pull off a great playboy billionaire, maybe even drawing upon a more younger, and naive version of Bruce Wayne .

4. Unorthodox Choice

The fourth reason he would be a great choice is that it’s an unusual pick. There are candidates that physically fit the role of Batman better, such as Karl Urban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer and Jon Hamm. But I think Warner Bros and Matt Reeves want to throw a curve ball. Just like with Michael Keaton in the 1989 Batman, Heath Ledger as The Joker and Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

5. A Fresh Take

The fifth and final reason is that we should never go into these movies with preconceived notions based on what the actor/actress have done in the past. You should never judge a casting based off of prior roles either. Could he be awful as Batman? Of course. Could he be great and the casting crew loves his interpretation of the caped crusader? No doubt and that’s the thing. We don’t know what the casting-crew and director want from an actor. They will see greatness and we can only hope and imagine the best.

So please let us not judge this casting long before the movie is in production. Take a deep breath, and let’s get this party started. Only two more years till TheĀ Batman(title maybe will change) comes out. For all your news on the new Batman movie, make sure you’re following us on social media, @WOBAMEnt. And here’s hoping for Robert Pattinson as Batman.
