The Legacy of ARROW – Eight Seasons and a Universe
Arrow started as a show about a guy wanting to atone for his father’s sins. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was nothing more than a rich douchebag who only cared about himself. After five years in hell, and eight years as the hero vigilante, the Green Arrow – Oliver became a god and helped usher in a new universe. This is the Legacy of Arrow. Let’s rewind a bit and take a look at what this show was initially. The CW, a Warner Brothers television network, previously had massive success with Smallville. A series that centered around a young Clark Kent and his adventures before he became the Man of Steel,…

5 Live Action DC Worlds That Weren’t in CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS
The CW‘s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event was insanely ambitious. It expanded the Arrowverse‘s multiverse to include countless live action adaptations of DC Comics. Everything from Titans to Batman 1989 to DC Films to even the Green Lantern movie were represented. And that’s not including the returns of Brandon Routh’s Superman, Tom Welling’s Clark Kent, and more. To see all of these characters on screen again, and to see the DC Multiverse truly unified, was a sight to behold. However, as massive as its scope was, Crisis on Infinite Earths did not include every single live action DC property. Below, we list five DC adaptations that didn’t make the…

Recap: Arrow Season 8
Ollie’s back, and he’s teaching us how to say goodbye, one last time. This final season of Arrow is much shorter (making my job easier), which means we cut out all of the filler. We see Oliver travel with the Monitor preparing for the upcoming Crisis. The stories are tight and act as a fitting conclusion to the series. Each episode is a love letter to the series. We see Oliver, Diggle, and Laurel travel to different Earths and familiar locations throughout the season. We go to Lian Yu, Russia, Earth-2, Hong Kong, and of course, Star City. We have Oliver getting closure with characters like Katana and Anatoly, while…

The Flash: Season Six Mid-season Catch-Up
Blows dust off keyboard and Cracks Knuckles Good thing I don’t believe in Good-Byes, huh! So we’re back! WOBAM has returned to the internet and I could not be happier for us to be together again: You me, Our Lord and Savior, Patty Spivot: Evil Kara Zor-El! The gang’s all here and it’s going to be just like old times. But first, let’s do a quick recap of season six so far: Things picked up a few months after the end of season five and though the gang is trying to get back to normal, the loss of Nora is still weighing heavy over everyone. As you might expect; Barry…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×17- “Time Bomb”
The Flash (5×17)- “Time Bomb” Written by: Kristen Kim & Sterling Gates Directed by: Rob Greenlea So when we left off things weren’t looking good for our heroes. Orlin had taken the cure but the adult Grace had come from the future to take up his mantle and it seems just not only more powerful but a little crazy to boot. I don’t see how things could get much worse… Just kidding! They’re getting worse by the minute because Nora can’t get any more help from Thawne in the future so she has to tell her father what they’ve been doing. Of course she can’t just tell Barry because what…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×16- “Failure is an Orphan”
The Flash (5×16)- “Failure is An Orphan” Written by: Zack Stentz Directed by: Viet Nguyen After back to back weeks of filler episodes I guess we all should have expected for them to throw everything into disarray with a big change episode. But is it good change or bad change? Let’s see if we can unpack this. In 2049, Thawne has about twenty minutes left before he’s put to death and it seems that he and Nora are on the brink of something with their plan to stop Cicada as the Timeline is in flux around Barry’s last confrontation with Cicada. So the pair have to make the confrontation happen…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×15- “King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd”
The Flash (5×15)- “King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd” Written by: Eric Wallace & Lauren Certo Directed by: Stefan Pleszczynski Let’s get this out of the way right off the bat: This was another filler episode. However, we should all be aware of that by now considering the cost prohibitive nature of Gorilla Grodd episodes. A CGI Gorilla just can’t be a big part of this series with the budget restraints of having this show on the CW, no matter how much I’d like him to be. But I have to give credit to the producers; every time they bring Grodd in it’s as a big deal. They also do a…

ARROW Will End with Season 8 This Fall
The CW launched a new era in 2012 with the premiere of Arrow, a new take on DC’s Green Arrow lore. The show is currently in its seventh season. Along the way, it has spawned an entire “Arrowverse” of other shows – The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow. That’s not counting multiple animated spinoffs and crossover events. But, alas, all good things must come to an end. The CW has confirmed that Arrow will be ending this fall, with its previously announced eighth season. The final season will run for an abbreviated 10 episodes. This is much shorter than the usual 23 episodes per season. Showrunner Beth Schwartz and…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×14- “Cause and XS”
The Flash (5×14)- “Cause and XS” Written by: Todd Helbing & Jeff Hersh Directed by: Rachel Talalay With new episodes coming up this week, I better take time out of my busy schedule to review the last episode. Cause and XS! continues this strange Flash tradition of putting out holiday episodes a week after the holiday… This time they’re celebrating Groundhog’s Day not with a prognosticating rodent but with a time loop. Of course, the time loop isn’t just a staple of Bill Murray movies. It’s a sci-fi staple going way back with shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stargate SG-1 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer all throwing their…

Kate Kane’s Step-Mother Cast In BATWOMAN
Kate Kane’s step-mother has been cast! Elizabeth Anweis will take on the roll as The CW’s Batwoman pilot’s production is coming near. She will play the wife to Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott), and based on the character description Variety provided, might be a thorn in Batwoman’s side. Catherine made her fortune as a savvy, bullheaded defense contractor, and all those billions position Catherine as one of Gotham’s most powerful residents. For Catherine, it’s a matter of the bottom line: Batwoman is bad for business. Elizabeth Anweis’ TV credits includes the shows 9-1-1, Twin Peaks: The Return, The Affair, Southland, and NCIS: Los Angeles. The Batwoman pilot has Ruby Rose playing Kate Kane/Batwoman, Dougray Scott…
