CAPTAIN MARVEL on Track for Big $100 Million Opening Weekend
Marvel Studios‘ films tend to make a lot of money at the box office, and its next title is no exception. Captain Marvel has hit the tracking boards, and if early projections are any indication, it will continue Marvel’s streak.
Right now, Captain Marvel is on track to open to a stellar $100 million+ over its debut weekend. This would make it the third MCU origin movie to reach that figure in its opening, following Iron Man and Black Panther.
Of course, this is early tracking, so this number can always go higher or lower. But the film has generated a lot of positive buzz with its marketing, and it won’t be facing much competition for a few weeks. Not to mention, Captain Marvel has a role to play in Avengers: Endgame, and with that being one of the most anticipated blockbusters in history, audiences will surely want an introduction to Carol Danvers.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters on March 8th. The 21st installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck direct.
