5 Characters (and Actors) Who Need to Return to the DC Extended Universe

The DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is a few movies in, and it has already brought countless DC characters to the big screen. Many of them are ongoing roles, with future films/appearances confirmed. These include heroes, villains, and other supporting characters.

However, there are also some characters whose futures are uncertain. While not entirely ruled out, Warner Bros. has yet to confirmed more appearances from specific characters. That’s what we’re talking about today.

Below, we list five DCEU characters (and their actors) who need to make a comeback.

Deadshot (Will Smith)

Floyd Lawton was one of the highlights of Suicide Squad, and getting Will Smith to play him was a brilliant call. Due to scheduling conflicts, he isn’t returning for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. While Idris Elba was reportedly set to replace Smith as Deadshot, the actor is now said to be playing a new character. This leaves the door open for Smith’s potential return in the future. Whether it’s Suicide Squad 3, a solo film or somewhere else, Deadshot has a lot of potential as a movie character, and it’d be a shame if they didn’t explore that.

Cyborg (Ray Fisher)

After a brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone became a hero in Justice League. While every other Justice League actor (minus Ben Affleck) is said to be returning, Fisher has been a big question mark. He’s been rumored for a role in The Flash movie (whenever it happens) for years, while his solo film has apparently been shelved. But at least we’ll see him again in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, where he is said to be the heart of the story.

Lois Lane (Amy Adams)

Lois Lane played a key role in Zack Snyder’s DC trilogy. While her relationship with Superman was good, she was just as great a character in her own right. Right now, it’s unclear if Lois will return in any future DC movies, especially with no plans for another Superman film. It’s a shame, since she’s a great character and Amy Adams is terrific casting. At least there’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Deathstroke (Joe Manganiello)

Slade Wilson appeared in Justice League‘s post-credits scene in a meeting with Lex Luthor, who pitched the idea of having their own League. There were plans for Deathstroke to return in Ben Affleck’s The Batman and his own movie, both of which have been shelved. Joe Manganiello is really good casting, and it’d be a waste if he never returned. They can easily resurrect his solo movie or have him appear in another film. Suicide Squad 3 maybe?

Faora-Ul (Antje Traue)

Female villains can be hard to find in superhero movies, but Faora has been a highlight in recent years. She was a member of Zod’s army in Man of Steel, and she was a fan-favorite force to be reckoned with. In that movie, she and other Kryptonians were taken into the Phantom Zone. Faora would be a welcome addition to any future DC film. I mean, she left the Phantom Zone before, so she can do it again. Faora vs. Wonder Woman, anyone?
