Marvel Studios has already explored some parts of the MCU’s cosmic side, with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and the Thanos/Infinity Gauntlet storyline. However, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to kick off an increased focus on cosmic properties. One character that fans have wanted to see was Nova. We’ve already met the Nova Corps in the first Guardians, but that’s it. So, will we ever get a movie?
Speaking with ComicBook, Marvel’s Kevin Feige offers a promising answer when asked about Nova’s cinematic potential. “Nova is… if we have a big board with a bunch of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe, because there are more than one examples to pull from in the comics that are interesting.”
Richard Rider is the most popular Nova, and he is one of the Marvel Universe’s biggest heroes who hasn’t shown up in the MCU yet. More recently, Sam Alexander took over the mantle. A Nova movie could star either character, both, or someone completely new. But either way, this movie would fit perfectly into Marvel’s future cosmic plans.
