The summer box office season is in its final stretch, but we have some more updates on two superhero movies. Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp held onto 7th place in its fifth weekend of release in North America, grossing an estimated $6.2 million. This brings its domestic total to $195.5 million, so it should hit the $200 million mark soon. Overseas, the film had a boost from a $6.2 million opening in the UK. TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES Comes Behind Expectations with Estimated $10.5 Million Opening
A few weeks ago, Teen Titans GO! To the Movies was tracking to open somewhere between $14 million and $19 million. However, the weekend estimates are in, and the film is opening with even less than that. Per Box Office Mojo, Teen Titans GO! is opening with an estimated $10.5 million, putting it in 5th place. Meanwhile, the film opened in eight international markets, bringing in about $1 million, putting its worldwide debut at $11.5 million. Warner Bros. has released a second trailer for Teen Titans GO! To the Movies, which brings the hit animated series to the big screen. In the film, the Titans go to Hollywood to get their own movie, just like all the other superheroes. The trailer is full of the franchise’s trademark humor and shenanigans, such as breaking the fourth wall and poking fun at other DC superheroes.
