SUPERGIRL Casts Maggie Sawyer for Season 2

Supergirl has been filling many new roles for its second season, which will air on The CW rather than CBS. Former Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter will play the United States President, while Ian Gomez will portray Snapper Carr. Oh, and a certain Man of Steel is also popping up.

Now, another key role has been cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Family alum Floriana Lima will play National City PD detective Maggie Sawyer. Maggie is one of the first openly gay characters to appear in mainstream comics. She is also known for her relationship with Katherine Kane, aka Batwoman.

On Supergirl, Maggie will take a “special interest” in cases revolving around aliens. She will be a series regular role for season two.

Supergirl returns on Monday, October 10th at 8 PM EST on The CW.
