New Report Clarifies Lucasfilm’s Current Approach to STAR WARS Spinoffs
The box office failure of Solo: A Star Wars Story was a surprise, and it led to much speculation on how Disney and Lucasfilm will tackle future films…if they’re even made at all. A report this week claimed that the story spinoffs, revolving around characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett, are being put on hold while Lucasfilm focuses on other films. Lucasfilm later downplayed the report. Now, we have some clarification. According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s sources, Lucasfilm isn’t slowing down development on the Star Wars spinoffs per say. Rather, Kathleen Kennedy and co. are reassessing how to make and market them. For example, the Boba Fett movie –…

Venom kicks things off this fall, with Silver & Black (starring Silver Sable and Black Cat) in development. Movies starring Nightwatch and Morbius the Living Vampire are also in the works. Now, we can add a new title to the slate. According to trades such as The Wrap, Spider-Man supporting character Silk is getting her own movie. FEATURE: The Wrestling Streaming World Tour Part Four
FEATURE: The Wrestling Streaming World Tour Part Four Japan Welcome back, time to talk about Japanese pro wrestling or as it’s called by fans of Japanese wrestling; Puroresu. I should get this out of the way. I LOVE Japanese wrestling. I love the athleticism, I love the sports-like feel, and I love the tradition. Also, there’s a lot of promotions in Japan, nearly fifty. And a lot of them have some sort of streaming service or a channel on YouTube or Twitch and if we start talking about bootleg streams… *ahem* that number gets even higher. So, I have to be really selective. (My personal favorite promotion, Pro Wrestling NOAH…

I Lost a Bet and Had to Watch BATMAN AND HARLEY QUINN. Hold Me While I Sob…
Have you ever made a bet? That intuition fueled guessing game that delivers the instant satisfaction of being right, or makes you fall flat on your face? I don’t make bets often; but when I do, they’re always with a purpose. In this particular instance, I made a bet with fellow WOBAM contributor Isak Wolff: if Son Goku was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he had to review the John Goodman-starring Myst parody, PYST; if Son Goku wasn’t announced for Smash Bros., then I had to review Batman and Harley Quinn. You can guess who lost that bet. When WOBAM’s’s very own Paul Romano reviewed Batman and Harley Quinn,…

FEATURE: The Wrestling Streaming World Tour Part Three
FEATURE: The Wrestling Streaming World Tour Part Three The UK and European Scene When I was a kid watching wrestling and a wrestler showed up from Europe in general or especially the UK I knew one thing, this person was going to beat the hell out of people. You need not look any further than Stephen “William” Regal and Fit Finlay to see why. The European style is often referred to as Strong Style, which means there’s less high-flying and more striking and submission holds. Strong Style wrestlers often gain a reputation as being especially tough. In the late nineties and early 2000s the scene went through some down years…

Disney Reportedly Puts All STAR WARS Spinoffs on Hold [Updated]
UPDATE: ABC has reached out to Lucasfilm, who has dismissed this report as “inaccurate.” The studio says there are still “multiple” Star Wars movies that are in development, but haven’t been announced yet. The original story follows. A big part of Disney’s plan when acquiring Lucasfilm, in addition to the main Skywalker saga, was to develop standalone Star Wars stories for the big screen. Rogue One came out in 2016 and was a big hit, while this summer’s Solo was…not. In fact, Solo will lose at least $50 million for Disney and Lucasfilm. Fans have wondered how the studio will respond to this, and now, we may have an idea. According to…
