Hans Zimmer to Score X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX
In a (pleasantly) surprising bit of news, Hans Zimmer will be scoring X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Evan Peters, who is reprising his role as Quicksilver in the film, perhaps accidentally spilled the beans on an episode of Josh Horowitz’s HappySadConfused podcast saying the following when discussing the Simon Kinberg-directed film: “[The set] was actually very tame. Simon directed this one, and came in very prepared, very professional. It was a different energy on set and everything got done like clockwork. It was very seamless. Everybody was a little bit more level-headed, so it was a very pleasurable, light experience. I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it—I don’t…

Ranking the DCEU So Far
Hey friends! With Justice League now in theaters, it’s safe to say the DCEU has kicked into high gear. Today I’ll share with you my rankings for the 5 films that have been part of DC’s Extended Universe thus far – and yes, this list includes Justice League! So without further ado, let’s get started with… #5: Suicide Squad This movie was a huge disappointment. I remember liking it okay the first time I saw it, and then I realized how much of a hot mess the movie was upon rewatch. The marketing, which featured Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz” and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was on point, but the film itself was…

Review: THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)
I was so tempted to write this whole review in a green front, but I’m not sure Paul would like that. Grrrr! Anyway, here we are with my review of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. After Ang Lee’s Hulk, starring Eric Bana as Bruce Banner/Hulk, failed to do the character justice in 2003, Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Now You See Me) gave it a go with Edward Norton having the honors of playing the giant green rage monster (this role later being handed over to Mark Ruffalo). The Incredible Hulk follows Dr. Bruce Banner, a victim of a failed World War II experiment that was intended to make “super soldiers” immune to…

SHAZAM! Finds Its Shazam in Zachary Levi
It’s been a long time coming. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shazam! has finally found its star in Zachary Levi, best known for starring on the television series Chuck (he’ll be reprising his role as Fandral in next week’s Thor: Ragnarok as well). He’ll be playing DC’s comic book character Shazam, who is a young boy named Billy Batson, who can become an adult superhero whenever he says the magic word “Shazam!”. Shazam! director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation) later confirmed THR’s exclusive by taking to Instagram to make the casting official. *insert lightning bolt on chest* A post shared by David F. Sandberg (@ponysmasher) on Oct 27, 2017 at 3:02pm…

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Will Probably Be Marvel's Longest Running Movie to Date
Marvel Studios recently showcased footage from the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War at both D23 Expo and San Diego Comic-Con. While we wait for Marvel to officially release some footage (which will likely be a few months), we have an idea of what the film’s runtime will be. Speaking with Collider, co-director Joe Russo says that, while a final runtime has yet to be determined, Infinity War will probably be at least two and a half hours long. “The current cut is over two and a half [hours]… Most of it’s a movie you could show, but there’s still a lot of work left to be done, I still have a couple of scenes that we…

Marvel surprised a lot of us tonight at Comic-Con by announcing a couple of cast additions for next year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp as well as revealing out first look at art for the film, which includes the logo. Review: LEGO BATMAN 3: BEYOND GOTHAM
If you’ve ever played a LEGO video game before, you pretty much know what you’ll be getting yourself into with Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, the third installment in the series of LEGO Batman games. You play as miniature Legoized (I know that’s not a word and I don’t care) versions of characters from a particular franchise. As them, you break everything breakable in sight for those precious studs (basically coins) to unlock more characters to play as. While that’s going on, you’re also assembling Lego bricks to create objects in order to solve various puzzles. LEGO’s formula for video games hasn’t changed much at all over the years, so you’ll…
