Production on Suicide Squad is well underway in Toronto. Despite this, Warner Bros.’ DC Comics adaptation is still adding to its impressive ensemble cast.
According to Variety, The Twilight Saga actor Alex Meraz has signed on to appear in the supervillain film. His role in the movie is, unsurprisingly, not known. It is also unspecified how big of a role he has. Fans are already speculating that it could be Dick Grayson/Nightwing or Jason Todd/Red Hood, among others. But don’t be surprised if it is neither of those characters.
Regardless, Meraz confirmed the casting on his Twitter, affirming that he will be filming in Toronto “…for the summer!” He also teased preparation for his role by training at gun ranges. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th, 2016. The third installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fukuhara, Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz, Common, Scott Eastwood, Viola Davis and Jared Leto. David Ayer writes and directs.
