SUICIDE SQUAD: Possible New Info on Harley Quinn’s Wardrobe and References to BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES

Over the past couple of weeks, Latino-Review’s El Mayimbe has been sharing interesting details about the Suicide Squad movie, which is set to begin production next month. His latest scoop is about Harley Quinn, who will be played by Margot Robbie.

Since her creation for Batman: The Animated Series, Quinn has emerged as a fan-favorite character, and many are pleased that she is finally heading to the big screen. Despite her recent exposure in the New 52 comics, according to Mayimbe, Suicide Squad‘s iteration will take at least some influence from the Batman: TAS iteration. [Warning: Some Possible Mild Spoilers Ahead.]

So, in Suicide Squad, Quinn will apparently don several outfits. She will wear a “traditional” costume that references Batman: TAS, and she will also wear prison attire. Additionally, there is a sequence where the Squad infiltrate a club, and there, Quinn wears a dress.

Additionally, Quinn and Joker’s pet hyenas will appear briefly in Suicide Squad. Fans will recognize the two hyenas – named Bud and Lou – from their appearances in Batman: TAS, The Batman and the “Death of the Family” comic book arc, among other forms of media.

If this info is true, this serves as a neat reference to the classic version of Quinn as seen in Batman: TAS. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th, 2016. The third installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis and Jared Leto. David Ayer writes and directs.
