Geoff Johns Teases New DC Comics TV Show Announcement
Happy New Year! To celebrate the first day of 2017, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns tweeted the five DC events he was most looking forward to. These include this year’s movie slate, Injustice 2, and confirmation that he is returning to writing comics. But most interestingly, we have something for the television side of things.
In his tweet about this year’s DC television shows, Johns revealed that a new series will be announced “soon.” What show could it be?
Obviously, we have Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, iZombie and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on The CW; Gotham and Lucifer on Fox; and Powerless premiering next month on NBC. Also, Fox has ordered a Black Lightning pilot, while SyFy is still developing its Krypton pilot.
There are countless options as to what this new show is, given how vast the DC Universe is. Maybe that Titans project (or something like it) is being revived, while fans have expressed interest in seeing Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman get his own series. Or maybe it’s something else entirely. Who knows?
Again, expect this new TV series announcement to be made soon. What do you think the show will be?
