The past couple years have been a rollercoaster ride when it comes to the film industry. There have been delays, changes in production, and switching from theatrical to streaming. However, slowly but surely, movies are starting to make a return to form at theaters. We’ve had some box office successes in 2021, with blockbuster films finally coming back to theaters. How Legendary Pictures Can #ContinueTheMonsterVerse After GODZILLA VS. KONG
Legendary Pictures successfully began an American-based Godzilla franchise in 2014, with its first film starring the iconic monster. The movie began the MonsterVerse, a shared cinematic universe that includes other monsters. It continued with 2017’s Kong: Skull Island (which rebooted King Kong) and 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters (which also featured King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan). This has all led up to the release of the new film Godzilla vs. Kong, which pits the two titans against each other in a clash of the ages. Godzilla vs. Kong was a solid movie (check out our review here), and it has been adding some much-needed life to the box office.…

5 More Marvel Legacy Characters We Want to See in the MCU
[Warning: The Following Contains Spoilers From WandaVision, As Well As Rumors Regarding the Third Spider-Man Movie’s Plot.] Before and during the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, other studios created their own films based on Marvel characters. Retroactively referred to as “Marvel Legacy” movies, they range from the wildly successful Spider-Man and X-Men franchises to standalone movies starring the likes of Daredevil, Hulk and the Fantastic Four. They all exist in their own continuity, which is almost unheard of in the modern age of superhero films. But now, with the MCU getting ready to explore the Multiverse, these worlds are starting to blur. Following J.K. Simmons’ reprisal of J.…

Review: TENET (2020)
Christopher Nolan is a filmmaker who has had no shortage of ambition. Everything from his approach to big science fiction concepts (Inception, Interstellar) to reimagining Batman lore (The Dark Knight Trilogy) has been met with much success, both critically and financially. After visiting the World War II genre with 2017’s Dunkirk, Nolan returns to sci-fi with his latest outing, Tenet. Naturally, Tenet was one of the year’s most anticipated films, boasting not only Nolan’s latest original story, but also a stellar cast and enticing marketing. Then, COVID-19 happened. Eventually, the pandemic led to Tenet being delayed a few times. However, with Nolan pushing to hold on to its 2020 release…

Wakanda Forever: The Legacy of Chadwick Boseman
I fondly remember seeing Black Panther in theaters opening weekend more than two years ago. I always knew that the film would have a major impact. It was the first Marvel Studios movie starring a black superhero, and the first major superhero movie with a predominately black cast and crew. Black Panther was also one of my favorite superheroes, and to finally see him on the big screen was exciting, to say the least. But the energy surrounding the film’s opening weekend was higher than even I expected. My theater was crowded – not common for a Saturday morning showing – and the audience interacted heavily with the movie. Black…

Our 5 Favorite Moments from DC Fandome 2020 (Part 1)
DC Entertainment tried something new this year. Instead of the usual San Diego Comic-Con panels or out-of-nowhere announcements, the studio held a digital convention for its projects. Dubbed “DC Fandome,” the convention puts the spotlight on upcoming films, television shows, video games, and more. In fact, it was so big, DC decided to split it into two parts. Part 1 took place this past Saturday, while Part 2 will take place on September 12th. Part 1 was a huge success, showing off first looks at upcoming movies and revealing new video games. Fans have been raving about the reveals, trailers, and more since then. Most notably, on the film/TV side,…

5 More SPIDER-MAN Video Games We Want to See
When it comes to superhero video games, few characters have had more titles than Spider-Man. The Marvel web-slinger has headlined countless games across multiple generations of consoles. Whether it’s original stories, film tie-ins or guest appearances in other games, Spidey is everywhere. Most recently, the character starred in Marvel’s Spider-Man, a PlayStation 4 exclusive that is one of the genre’s greatest. It has spawned an upcoming spinoff in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Meanwhile, Peter Parker guest stars in Marvel Ultimate Alliances 3: The Black Order and the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers. Of course, that won’t be the end. Spider-Man is a lucrative video game franchise, and Sony and Marvel will continue to…

5 More Video Games That Should Get a Live Action Adaptation
Video game adaptations have had a bad rep forever, but in recent years, the subgenre has shown improvement. Films such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Tomb Raider have been solid, while Castlevania has an outstanding anime series on Netflix. Currently, new properties like Uncharted and Monster Hunter are being adapted, with reboots of Mario and Mortal Kombat underway. And those are just the movies. Television adaptations in the works include HBO’s The Last of Us, Showtime’s Halo, and Amazon’s Fallout. We can also talk about Netflix’s The Witcher series, but that is an adaptation of the books, rather than the games. Now, we’re always thinking about the future. As long…

10 Characters We Want to See on SUPERMAN & LOIS
The CW‘s Arrowverse will expand with its next spinoff series next year. Superman & Lois shifts the focus to Clark Kent and his wife, as they balance the challenges of superheroics and raising two sons. The show is already confirmed to feature several new characters, such as Lana Lang and The Stranger (rumored to be an alternate version of Lex Luthor). The Arrowverse shows are known for focusing on characters from the comics. Some are making their live action debuts, while others are being re-adapted or even crossing over from other shows. That is expected to be the same with Superman & Lois. And considering the Man of Steel’s gallery…
