Filming is now underway on the next main X-Men film, subtitled Dark Phoenix. The bulk of the cast from the First Class trilogy are coming back, along with new additions such as Jessica Chastain’s Lilandra. Now, a new report suggests that four more characters are joining the cast – two are new, while we’ve met the other two before. According to That Hashtag Show, actors Kota Eberhardt and Scott Shepherd have joined the X-Men universe. X-MEN Casting Bits: Rosario Dawson Exits NEW MUTANTS, Quicksilver Returns for DARK PHOENIX
We have a couple of casting updates on two of the next movies in the X-Men universe. First off, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosario Dawson has dropped out of Josh Boone’s New Mutants. Replacing her is Alice Braga, whose credits include I Am Legend and Predators. It’s unclear why Dawson exited the project. Braga will play Dr. Cecilia Reyes, who can generate a protective bio-field around herself, but there’s apparently more to her than meets the eye. Dazzler Will Appear in X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX
After much speculation, 20th Century Fox recently confirmed the main cast and director of its next main X-Men film, Dark Phoenix. Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut with the sequel, which will see the return of cast members Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor X), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler). Also, Jessica Chastain is in talks to play the villain, an alien empress called Lilandra. Now, we have confirmation of another mutant joining the film. JOKER Gets a Composer; Joaquin Phoenix Not Worried About Fan Pressure
We have a couple news tidbits for Warner Bros.’ Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the future Clown Prince of Crime. First up, composer Hildur Gudnadottir has been hired to score Joker. Fandango has released its annual survey, where moviegoers are surveyed on their most anticipated movies of 2019. And unsurprisingly, Marvel Studios is headlining it with its most anticipated blockbuster yet.
