Ron Cephas Jones in Talks to Play the Wizard in SHAZAM

We’re a few weeks away from the start of production on DC’s next film, Shazam. However, casting is still underway, and today we have some news.

According to The Wrap, actor Ron Cephas Jones is in talks to play the Wizard in Shazam. In the comics, the Wizard is the one who gives Billy Batson the powers to become a superhero. Jones is known for his theater work, along with roles in television shows like This is Us and Luke Cage.

With production beginning within the next month or so, we can expect more news to come soon. Stay tuned.

Shazam is set to hit theaters on April 5th, 2019. The seventh installment in the DC Films Universe stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, and Faithe Herman. David F. Sandberg directs from a script by Henry Gayden.
