AVENGERS: ENDGAME Headlines Fandango’s Most Anticipated Movies of 2019
Fandango has released its annual survey, where moviegoers are surveyed on their most anticipated movies of 2019. And unsurprisingly, Marvel Studios is headlining it with its most anticipated blockbuster yet. Avengers: Endgame tops the Most Anticipated Movie category, followed by Marvel’s Captain Marvel in second place. Other names included are M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, DC’s Joker, and Star Wars: Episode IX. Comic book movies have also dominated Fandango’s other categories. BLACK ADAM Producer Offers Script Update, Teases an Edgy DC Movie
Last we heard on the Black Adam movie, star Dwayne Johnson suggested that production could begin in late 2019. Scribe Adam Sztykiel has been working on the screenplay, while a director hasn’t been hired yet. Now, we have a new update from a producer. Seven Bucks Productions president Hiram Garcia tells Collider that Black Adam is “definitely” happening, and the scripting process is going well. He reaffirms that Black Adam was the character that Johnson was sold on years ago, while the plan to split this and Shazam! into two movies allow them to properly develop both characters. SHAZAM! Gets a Composer; Director Talks Dr. Sivana’s Origin and Black Adam
Today, we have a few news bits related to New Line Cinema’s DC film, Shazam!, which was a highlight at the studio’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last weekend. First up, Film Music Reporter confirms that composer Benjamin Wallfisch is scoring Shazam! for director David F. Sandberg. He has worked on Sandberg’s two other feature films, Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, so this latest collaboration makes sense. Wallfisch’s other credits include Blade Runner 2049 (working alongside Hans Zimmer) and next year’s Hellboy reboot. Meanwhile, Sandberg has talked about his movie’s approach to villains. Will Shazam Meet the Justice League in Future DC Films?
It’s no secret by now that Shazam! takes place in DC Films’ shared universe, which includes Justice League and more movies. While Shazam! is said to be a standalone story, fans have expect some sort of crossover eventually. SHAZAM! Covers Entertainment Weekly’s Exclusive SDCC 2018 Issue
Entertainment Weekly has revealed its second San Diego Comic-Con 2018 cover, which will be available exclusively online and at the convention. This cover brings DC Films’ next big hero to the spotlight. The cover features Zachary Levi suited up as the titular hero in Shazam!, which will be part of Warner Bros. and DC’s panel this Saturday.
