Atom and Firestorm to Appear on VIXEN Season 2
Vixen will return for a second season on CW Seed later this summer, and there are big plans for Mari McCabe’s next adventures. Speaking with TV Guide (via Comic Book Resources), executive producer Marc Guggenheim explains that Mari will be exploring her world beyond Detroit. He says, “[Mari will be] expanding her sense of obligation beyond the borders of Detroit. There’s a much larger world out there that needs her protection.” In the process of this journey, Mari will reunite with some old friends and meet some new ones. GOTHAM Casts The Mad Hatter for Season 3
Gotham will continue to introduce iconic Batman villains in its third season next fall. Solomon Grundy, Talon and a new Poison Ivy are all expected to appear. Now, Mad Hatter has been cast. San Diego Comic-Con is this week, and DC Entertainment is bringing its massive slate of television shows to the convention. At these panels, we should learn a lot more about each show’s upcoming season. Bleeding Cool may have uncovered some of these plans with a series of rumors. The site says that some of these things may not even happen, so take the following with a pinch of salt for the time being. SUICIDE SQUAD Score Album Announced
Atlantic Records will release Suicide Squad: The Album next month, featuring a compilation of songs from the film. Artists such as twenty one pilots, Skrillex, Imagine Dragons and Eminem are featured in this release. However, we will get a separate album for the movie’s original score, composed by Steven Price. According to Film Music Reporter, WaterTower Music will release Suicide Squad: Original Motion Picture Score digitally on August 5th, the same date as the film’s release. Entertainment Weekly has released this week’s San Diego Comic-Con themed issue, and included is a section on the Wonder Woman movie. The magazine has released the first official stills from the highly anticipated DC film, showing Diana Prince in all her glory. Supergirl has been filling many new roles for its second season, which will air on The CW rather than CBS. SUICIDE SQUAD on Track for Big $125 Million Opening Weekend
Over the past year, Suicide Squad has generated plenty of hype and anticipation. This is thanks to a strong marketing campaign, a unique concept for a comic book movie, and a stellar A-list cast. So, it’s no surprise that the film is on track for a big opening weekend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Suicide Squad is on track to open with a huge $125 million over the August 5th weekend. DC Collectibles Unveils New Wave of Action Figures for DC’s Television Heroes
DC Collectibles will be expanding its action figure line for the company’s television shows, and courtesy of TV Insider, we have a first look. All of these figures will be released next year. They are based on characters from Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. The wave will begin rolling out in stores in February with the release of Firestorm and Hawkgirl from Legends of Tomorrow. The former figure is sculpted by Chris Dahlberg and Paul Harding, while the latter is designed by Steve Kiwus. The Hawkgirl figure’s wings can be opened and closed, with a wingspan of 13 inches.
