GOTHAM Casts The Mad Hatter for Season 3

Gotham will continue to introduce iconic Batman villains in its third season next fall. Solomon Grundy, Talon and a new Poison Ivy are all expected to appear. Now, Mad Hatter has been cast.

According to TV Line, The Walking Dead alum Benedict Samuel has been cast as Jervis Tetch, aka Mad Hatter. Gotham‘s version of the villain is described as “…a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness. He arrives in Gotham with an unwavering desire to find his sister, Alice, a young woman who went missing in the city years ago. It is anyone’s guess just how far down the rabbit hole he’s willing to go in order to find her.”

Gotham will serve as Mad Hatter’s second live action portrayal. He was previously played by David Wayne in the 1966 Batman series.

Gotham returns on Monday, September 19th at 8 PM EST on Fox.
