Last month, it was rumored that Warner Bros. was developing a Harley Quinn vs. The Joker movie, making it the latest addition to the DC Extended Universe. It was said to be separate from both Suicide Squad 2 and Gotham City Sirens. But now, a new movie starring the two characters is confirmed. IRON FIST Star Finn Jones Reveals When Season 2 Starts Filming, Promises Better Fight Scenes
Despite mixed-to-negative reception from fans and critics, Netflix has renewed Marvel’s Iron Fist for a second season. The season will continue Danny Rand’s journey from both the first season and The Defenders. Meanwhile, Luke Cage‘s Misty Knight will appear. Now, we know when production begins. Warner Bros. Developing Joker Origin Film Produced by Martin Scorsese; Will Be Separate from DCEU
Warner Bros. has over a dozen DC movies in development, making up the DC Extended Universe. But the studio’s latest move goes beyond that universe, promising a new take on the most iconic comic book villain. According to Deadline, WB is developing a new film telling the origin story of The Joker. The Hangover‘s Todd Phillips will direct, produce and co-write the script with Scott Silver, while legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese is on board as a producer. Check Out the First Teaser for Netflix's THE PUNISHER
Following this week’s The Defenders, Marvel and Netflix’s next original series will star The Punisher himself. While Frank Castle never showed up in the ensemble miniseries, the finale did include a Punisher teaser after the credits. And now, Netflix has officially released the teaser. The trailer primarily focuses on Castle slamming the ground with a sledgehammer, intertwined with footage of him in action and glimpses of his tragic past. Today, we have some major casting news for a new recurring villain, while we also have confirmation of a major Arrow character returning. According to Entertainment Weekly, Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff has joined The Flash as DC villain Amunet Black, aka Blacksmith. One of the biggest criticisms surrounding Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist was the lack of a costume for Danny Rand. He didn’t get one in The Defenders either. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Reaching $725 Million Worldwide This Week
Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has been doing very well at the box office, easily surpassing the Amazing franchise in North America. And now, the latest reboot is passing them worldwide. Per Box Office Mojo, Homecoming has grossed an estimated $314.1 million domestically and $410.8 million overseas as of this weekend. This brings its worldwide total to $724.9 million. The movie recently opened in Japan, while it hits China next month. So, the film’s theatrical run is still going strong. Homecoming has now surpassed the previous Spidey flick, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($709 million). It should also pass the first Amazing Spider-Man ($757.9 million) and likely even 2004’s Spider-Man 2 ($783.8 million).…
