Included is a lengthy interview with Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, who offers some intriguing teases for some future films. Greg Berlanti Offers Update on His BOOSTER GOLD Movie
Following his work on multiple DC television shows, Greg Berlanti set his sights on the big screen with a Booster Gold movie, written by Zack Stentz. Patty Jenkins Confirms Kristen Wiig’s Casting in WONDER WOMAN 2
Last week, it was reported that Kristen Wiig was in talks to play the villainous Cheetah in DC’s Wonder Woman sequel, which will begin production this summer. Now, a deal has been closed. Director Patty Jenkins has confirmed on Twitter that Wiig has joined the cast of the hotly anticipated sequel. New Details on Joker’s Characterization in Origin Film; Production May Start This Year
Development is still underway on director Todd Phillips’ Joker origin movie, which will be part of DC’s untitled banner for non-canon films. Last we heard, Joaquin Phoenix was in early talks to play the titular villain. Now, a new report sheds light on the movie’s portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime. According to The Wrap, Joker will be portrayed as a failed comedian in the 1980s. His lack of success with audiences ultimately leads to him becoming the Clown Prince of Crime. The marketing campaign for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is finally kicking off in full swing, with the film now a little over a month away from release. The film is the cover story for this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, who has a massive coverage behind the scenes. EW will release 15 (!) covers for the issue, which hits shelves on Friday. Possible AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Runtime Revealed
We’re over a month away from the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the long-awaited story that pits almost every Marvel superhero against Thanos. The wait recently got a bit shorter, as the film moved up from May 4th to April 27th. Now, we may have a runtime. AMC Theatre‘s page for Infinity War was recently updated with a runtime: 2 hours and 36 minutes, or 156 minutes. This would easily make it the longest Marvel Studios movie to date. WONDER WOMAN Composer Rupert Gregson-Williams Will Score AQUAMAN
Last year, composer Rupert Gregson-Williams created the score for DC Films’ Wonder Woman, putting out one of the most memorable superhero scores in recent memory. Now, the composer is returning to the DC Universe for his next project. According to Film Music Reporter, Gregson-Williams is set to score the Aquaman movie. The film takes us into the world of Atlantis, where Arthur Curry faces off against his half-brother Orm and other foes. Gregson-Williams is the second composer to tackle two DC Films; Hans Zimmer previously worked on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Ghost Rider starred in two feature films, played by Nicolas Cage. The movies were never big hits, with 2012’s Spirit of Vengeance making just $132.6 million worldwide. The rights later reverted back to Marvel Studios, but instead of another film, the character was brought to television on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s fourth season. LUKE CAGE Season 2 Premiere Date and Teaser Released
Netflix will premiere the second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones this week, but marketing is officially underway for the next installment of the Defenders saga. Season two of Luke Cage is set to premiere on Friday, June 22nd on Netflix. The new season sees Luke becoming a celebrity in Harlem after clearing his name.
