Review: JUSTICE LEAGUE (2017)
The DC Universe has had a very rocky start. Man of Steel, the first film of the franchise had a mixed reception. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice faired even worse, and Suicide Squad was laughable. After a few bumps, things started to take a turn. Wonder Woman was a huge success both critically and financially; breathing new life into the franchise. It was a step in the right direction, and we hope it continues in future films. That brings us here. The first-ever live action Justice League film. Does it keep this winning streak Wonder Woman started or does it fall flat on its face? Well, let’s discuss. Justice League…

Review: THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)
I was so tempted to write this whole review in a green front, but I’m not sure Paul would like that. Grrrr! Anyway, here we are with my review of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. After Ang Lee’s Hulk, starring Eric Bana as Bruce Banner/Hulk, failed to do the character justice in 2003, Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Now You See Me) gave it a go with Edward Norton having the honors of playing the giant green rage monster (this role later being handed over to Mark Ruffalo). The Incredible Hulk follows Dr. Bruce Banner, a victim of a failed World War II experiment that was intended to make “super soldiers” immune to…

Review: PLANET HULK (2010)
Films often have that one scene that defines the entire work. In Planet Hulk, that scene comes in the First Act, when Hulk is fighting Sakaar’s Red King and nearly gets killed. As Hulk lies in the dirt, bleeding out, we briefly see a monster with the vulnerability of Bruce Banner. Banner is nowhere to be seen in this film, but Planet Hulk is nevertheless concerned with showing us the Hulk’s cowardice. And over the course of the film, his experiences overcoming the past molds him into the people’s champion. Bursting with colorful animation and stellar voice acting, the film is a true feast for the eyes. But problems do…

Review: THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)
How do you make a good movie from a weak script? It’s hard, but Thor: The Dark World manages to pull it off; albeit, with very few of the character developments viewers have grown to expect from Marvel. Once again, the cast is mostly great. The Thor films really get the right folks for the job, and it gives these characters a nice dynamic. Chris Hemsworth IS Thor. He brings all the gravitas to the hero while incorporating a greater sense of maturity to the role. Natalie Portman is good as Jane Foster, though quite underdeveloped by the weak script. Idris Elba is EPIC, Kat Dennings is a comedic genius, and Tom Hiddleston continues…

REVIEW: HULK (2003)
Hulk(2003)Directed By: Ang Lee Hulk(2003) is the first live action movie that brings the famous green avenger to the big screen. Unfortunately, it sorely does Hulk a true injustice. Hulk is a hidden marvel of a superhero. He’s an extraordinary scientist and doctor as Bruce Banner, who in a mishap with radiation is mutated into an enormous green monster, with super human strength that can increase depending on his rage. He’s a hero in both realms of superherodom and in nuclear research. With most story lines however, the transformation from scientist to Hulk greatly limits his communication skills, and sometimes intelligence as the green giant. I will give Ang Lee tons…

Review: THOR (2011)
Looking back at the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is always a fun thing to do. Seeing how the Marvel films have come is still mind-boggling. Today we’ll be looking back at the fourth Marvel film, Thor. Is it better than we remember? Or does it fall flat to the newer Marvel movies? Well, lets put the hammer down and find out [sorry]! Thor begins with a great scene showing us the battle between the Frost Giants and the Asgardians. Anthony Hopkins’ narration really makes it feel even more epic. It sets the stage for what we’re going to see next. We then jump to an adult Thor getting ready…
