Sony Considering SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE TV Spinoffs
Sony Pictures really hit a homerun with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The animated film has been a critical and financial hit, and it earned a Golden Globe this week. This marks the beginning of a new franchise for Sony, which is already developing a sequel and spinoff. However, a new report suggests that it’ll go beyond that. The New York Times has published a piece on Sony’s future franchise plans, and obviously, Spider-Man is a big part of that. In addition to the movie spinoffs, Sony is considering animated television shows starring characters from Into the Spider-Verse. The film has spawned several fan-favorite characters, such as Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and…

SUPERMAN: RED SON Animated Movie in Development
Our pal Mario at Revenge of the Fans is back again with another big DC animated scoop. He recently shared the voice cast for Batman: Hush, and he revealed that a two-part Batman: The Long Halloween is in the works. Now, a film based on an iconic Superman story is happening. Superman: Red Son will be the next DC Elseworlds tale to get the animated treatment. There has been a lot of interest in adapting this story, including from producer Bruce Timm, and now it’s moving forward. Red Son is an alternative take on Superman’s origin, where his pod lands in the USSR rather than Kansas. In addition, Mario has…

JUSTICE LEAGUE VS. THE FATAL FIVE Sets its Voice Cast
Following Reign of the Supermen, DC is bringing in Justice League vs. The Fatal Five, which pits the superhero team against an obscure group of supervillains. The animated film’s voice cast has been announced, and there are plenty of familiar faces….er, voices. Kevin Conroy, George Newbern, and Susan Eisenberg reprise their roles as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The trio voiced the characters in the beloved Justice League/Justice League Unlimited animated shows. They have reprised the roles in many mediums since then. Next up, Doom Patrol star Diane Guerrero will play Green Lantern Jessica Cruz. The Fatal Five consists of Peter Jessop as Thorak, Tom Kenny as Bloodsport, Matthew Yang King as…

VENOM Sequel Moving Forward with Screenwriter
Despite negative reviews from critics and mixed reception from fans, Sony’s Venom was a big hit at the box office, grossing over $855 million worldwide on a $100 million budget. This secured the studio’s plans for a franchise, along with its Universe of Marvel Characters. Now, the sequel is officially moving forward. Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who worked on the first film, will return to pen Venom 2. Tom Hardy will return as the titular antihero, while Michelle Williams’ Anne Weying will be back. Additionally, Woody Harrelson, who debuted as Cletus Kasady in Venom‘s mid-credits scene, will take a bigger role in the sequel. One person’s return is in doubt, however.…

There, Feige was interviewed about the studio’s biggest movie yet, along with other teases on Marvel’s future. Speaking with MTV News, Feige addresses the secrecy for Avengers: Endgame. It was rumored that the title changed several times, most recently just before the trailer dropped. However, Feige says that the title was finalized very early in the film’s development. I Lost a Bet and Had to Watch BATMAN AND HARLEY QUINN. Hold Me While I Sob…
Have you ever made a bet? That intuition fueled guessing game that delivers the instant satisfaction of being right, or makes you fall flat on your face? I don’t make bets often; but when I do, they’re always with a purpose. In this particular instance, I made a bet with fellow WOBAM contributor Isak Wolff: if Son Goku was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he had to review the John Goodman-starring Myst parody, PYST; if Son Goku wasn’t announced for Smash Bros., then I had to review Batman and Harley Quinn. You can guess who lost that bet. When WOBAM’s’s very own Paul Romano reviewed Batman and Harley Quinn,…

Retrospective Review: BATMAN Soundtrack by Prince
Batman and Prince go together shockingly well. The Batman character and Prince’s music and public persona are complete opposites yet somehow Prince was able to make an entire hit album to go along with the 1989 film. Batman (1989) is a true testament to how talented Prince was. It’s been nearly thirty years since the Batman film and album were released. In the thirty years since dozens of superhero films have been released. Their success at the box office and their success with critics has overshadowed Batman to point where it has become an afterthought in most people’s minds. The Dark Knight trilogy has replaced the Batman films of…

Review: THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)
I was so tempted to write this whole review in a green front, but I’m not sure Paul would like that. Grrrr! Anyway, here we are with my review of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. After Ang Lee’s Hulk, starring Eric Bana as Bruce Banner/Hulk, failed to do the character justice in 2003, Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Now You See Me) gave it a go with Edward Norton having the honors of playing the giant green rage monster (this role later being handed over to Mark Ruffalo). The Incredible Hulk follows Dr. Bruce Banner, a victim of a failed World War II experiment that was intended to make “super soldiers” immune to…
