SUPERMAN: RED SON Animated Movie in Development
Our pal Mario at Revenge of the Fans is back again with another big DC animated scoop. He recently shared the voice cast for Batman: Hush, and he revealed that a two-part Batman: The Long Halloween is in the works. Now, a film based on an iconic Superman story is happening.
Superman: Red Son will be the next DC Elseworlds tale to get the animated treatment. There has been a lot of interest in adapting this story, including from producer Bruce Timm, and now it’s moving forward. Red Son is an alternative take on Superman’s origin, where his pod lands in the USSR rather than Kansas.
In addition, Mario has shared a lengthy voice cast list for the movie: Amy Acker, Anna Vocino, Diedrich Bader, Greg Chun, Jim Ward, Jason Isaacs, Jason Spisak, Jim Meskimen, Paul Williams, Phil Lamarr, Phil Morris, Roger Craig Smith, Sasha Roiz, Tara Strong, Travis Willingham, Vanessa Marshall, William Salyers, and Winter Zoli.
No word on the actors’ characters yet. Several actors here, such as Bader, Strong and Lamarr, have a lengthy history with DC, so they could be playing anybody. Hopefully, we’ll hear official word soon.
Stay tuned for more as we have it.
