BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Camera Tests Underway In Detroit
We have another production update for Batman vs. Superman, courtesy of actress Diane Lane. Recently, a number of actors from the Man of Steel sequel had reportedly been in Detroit, as well as crew members including cinematographer Larry Fong. Now, Lane – who reprises her role as Martha Kent in the superhero epic – reveals why. While production hasn’t officially started yet, the Oscar nominee tells The Hollywood Reporter that camera tests are underway in Detroit, and she just returned from the city. Easter-Egg Filled BATMAN BEYOND Animated Short From Darwyn Cooke Now Online
DC’s second Batman animated short, based on the excellent Batman Beyond series, made its premiere at WonderCon’s Batman 75 panel yesterday. And now, the short is online in its entirety. Created by Darwyn Cooke, the minute and a half short sees the elderly Bruce Wayne (Kevin Conroy) and new Batman Terry McGinnis (Will Friedle) face off against a robotic Batman, before preparing for battle with a slew of others. These Batman robots pay homage to a slew of animated and live action incarnations of the Caped Crusader, including Beware the Batman, The Dark Knight Returns, and the 1966 and 1989 versions of Batman. First Trailer For DC’s Next Animated Movie, BATMAN: ASSAULT ON ARKHAM
With Son of Batman premiering tonight at WonderCon and arriving on home video in a few weeks, we finally have a first look at the next title in DC’s animated catalog. A trailer for this summer’s Assault on Arkham, which is set in the universe of the Batman: Arkham video game series, is now online. WGN America Bringing DC/Vertigo Title SCALPED To The Small Screen
Yet another DC/Vertigo title is being adapted for television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, WGN America is developing a small screen take on Scalped, which ran for 60 issues over five years. The TV series will be written and executive produced by Doug Jung (Banshee). Scalped follows “the Oglala Lakota inhabitants in the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation in South Dakota as they grapple with organized crime, poverty, drug and alcohol addiction and local politics while trying to preserve their cultural identity. The 2014 MTV Movie Awards took place last night, and Man of Steel took home the one prize it was nominated for. Henry Cavill, who starred as Superman in Zack Snyder’s reboot, won the “Best Hero” award, beating out Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man 3), Chris Hemsworth (Thor: The Dark World), Martin Freeman (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), and Channing Tatum (White House Down).
