Warner Bros. Developing Film Adaptation Of Vertigo’s FEDERAL BUREAU OF PHYSICS, Produced By David Goyer And Written By SUICIDE SQUAD’s Justin Marks
While several DC titles are reportedly in development at Warner Bros., the studio is also pursuing another Vertigo series to bring to the big screen. According to Deadline, WB has hired The Jungle Book scribe Justin Marks to write a film adaptation of Vertigo’s Federal Bureau of Physics. The script will be based on co-creator Simon Oliver’s treatment. Marks previously penned the in development Suicide Squad movie and the shelved Green Arrow: Escape From Supermax. DC go-to guy David S. Goyer, who co-wrote Supermax, is producing FBP. ARROW Composer Blake Neely Signs On To Score The CW’s FLASH Spin-Off
After his solid work on Arrow, Blake Neely is set to reunite with the crew of the hit CW series for its next DC show. Via Film Music Reporter, the composer has been hired to score the planned spin-off series The Flash. The pilot, which recently wrapped filming, stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, and Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon. In addition to Arrow, Neely is currently scoring ABC’s Resurrection. The CW will announce next month whether or not The Flash makes it to series.

In celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary, a couple of animated shorts have been scheduled for release this year. One of these is Batman: Strange Days, from acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series mastermind Bruce Timm. This short recently aired on Cartoon Network’s “DC Nation” program, and it is now available online. Strange Days is set in the year 1939 (the year of Batman’s birth), and sees the Dark Knight tracking a giant that leads him to Hugo Strange. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, Man of Steel is officially the starting point for Warner Bros.’ highly demanded DC Cinematic Universe. However, the only movie definitely confirmed is Batman vs. Superman, scheduled for May 2016. Justice League is expected to follow shortly after that.
