Jenny Slate in Talks to Join VENOM

The cast of Sony’s Venom project is quietly becoming one of the best in all of Hollywood. The film continues to add talent, and their latest acquisition is no exception. According to Variety, actress Jenny Slate will join Tom Hardy in the Sony superhero flick.

We still don’t know much about Venom, but we do know that Slate will play a scientist in the film. Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey), and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) will write the script – while Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal will produce. Venom will be separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will have no connection to anything related to Spider-Man (the character specifically). They will, however, keep things open for a potential crossover in the future.

Based on the Marvel anti-hero of the same name, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate. The film is currently scheduled for October 5th, 2018. For more news on Venom and everything in Marvel Entertainment, stay tuned.
