From Beat Cop to Mayor, 90s FLASH Alum Joins CW Cast
As a fan of the 90s CBS Flash series one of my favorite running gags was Officer Tony Bellows and his partner, Michael Murphy. The pair spends most of the series encounter Barry’s alter ego and debating whether or not they saw what they saw. It seems I was in good company, as Vito D’Ambrosio will be reprising his role as Tony Bellows, the Mayor of Central City. D’Ambrosio follows the lead of John Wesley Shipp, Amanda Pays and Mark Hamill. Like Hamill and Pays, he’s playing a character of the same name but in a new position. He will be reunited with both Shipp and Hamill in episode seventeen…

FLASH: SPOILER Review 1×11 – “The Sound and the fury”
The Flash (1×11) – “The Sound and the fury” Written by: Alison Schapker & Brooke Eikmeier Directed by: John F Showalter This week’s episode opens with Barry chasing the Royal Flush Gang (though a different group than from the Arrow season 1 episode) who are on dirt bikes; the scene displays some smooth teamwork between Wells and Barry as he leads Barry through the streets using their monitors allowing Barry to herd the group together and take the ignition keys out of the gang’s bikes. Barry returns to the Lab and as they celebrate their work, Cisco says they need to celebrate with a picture. After Barry takes a “selfie”…

Jason Momoa Says His AQUAMAN Won't Be Blonde
It sometimes seemed last year that Jason Momoa playing Aquaman was the worst kept secret ever. Every few weeks, a rumor would pop up somewhere from “reliable sources” that he was playing the part only for Momoa to either blow the question off or say emphatically that he was not. That finally came to an end recently and Momoa has been able to offer more than non-committals. At Sundance he answered some questions at a Smart Works panel and spoke on a number of things. He was asked about Zack Snyder’s version of the Sea King and had this to say: “Well, things are going to be a little different. When…

Colm Feore Cast as the Dollmaker in GOTHAM
Gotham has found its Dollmaker. The character that was teased way back in episode two will soon make his debut in episode seventeen and according to Deadline, he will be played by Colm Feore. Colm Feore has a seriously impressive resume; he played “Marcus Andronicus” opposite Anthony Hopkins in the 1999 film Titus and reunited with him as Laufey in Thor. He played the husband of the President in season seven of 24. More recently he played Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere on the Showtime drama The Borgias and had a role in last summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. (imdb) As we reported in December, the Dollmaker is described as: Dr.…

FLASH: SPOILER Review 1×10 – “Revenge of the Rogues”
The Flash (1×10) – “Revenge of the Rogues” Written by: Geoff Johns & Kai Yu Ku Directed by: Nick Copus Much like the real world, several weeks seem to have passed since “The Man in the Yellow Suit” and Barry is working harder than ever to master his powers with the help of the STAR Labs Trio. While Barry goes up against a Cisco-designed drone (complete with missiles) we learn from the voice over that the confrontation with the Reverse Flash has left Barry’s pride wounded and given him a tighter focus on catching the man he believes murdered his mother. Barry takes out the drone while showing us and…

BATMAN VS. ROBIN Box Art and Details Revealed
One of the things that most intrigued comic fans going into the New 52 relaunch at DC Comics was Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo on Batman. The pair kicked off the blockbuster run with a twelve issue arc, The Court of Owls. The story arc introduced the Court of Owls, an organization of the rich and powerful almost as old as Gotham itself dedicated to keeping the city corrupt. It gave Snyder and Capullo’s younger Batman a villain that knew his city better than himself and satisfied many readers. Now we get to relive the spirit of that story with the April 14th direct to home market release: Batman vs…

Penguin to Penguin: Danny DeVito Praises GOTHAM’s Robin Lord Taylor
Gotham has been a success for Fox and DC, and most viewers agree that a lot of that success can be credited to Robin Lord Taylor’s fantastic performance as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. He’s been both charismatic and chilling with Penguin and wonderfully devious too. One person who is definitely a fan of Taylor is the last man to play the character: Danny DeVito. DeVito brought the Penguin to life in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns opposite Michael Keaton’s Batman. You can currently catch DeVito on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on FXX. Access Hollywood caught up with DeVito as he promoted his series last week at the Television Critics…

Producer David Heyman Offers a FABLES Update
Bill Willingham’s Fables has been one of the most popular and praised comics of the last decade. The story of Bigby Wolf, Snow White and the people of Fabletown has pulled in fourteen Eisner Awards thus far and its popularity has given rise to two television series inspired by the book: Once Upon a Time on ABC and Grimm on NBC. However, when it comes to live action adaptations, Fables has been in development hell for quite a while now. Warner Brothers Television tried to develop a series in 2005 with NBC; the project fizzled and was eventually reworked into Grimm. When they again with ABC in 2008, that project…
