Yes, Nick Fury Will Appear in CAPTAIN MARVEL
For a while, it has been suggested that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will appear in 2019’s Captain Marvel, which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. Jackson suggested in an interview a few months back that he would pop up in this movie, as well as the next two Avengers films. Then, Omega Underground learned from production crew recruitment that Jackson is co-starring in Captain Marvel. Now, it’s happening. Deadline has verified that Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury in Captain Marvel. It’s unclear exactly how big his role in this movie is. Captain Marvel will serve as Fury’s tenth Marvel movie appearance; Jackson signed a nine-movie contract.…

Matt Reeves Addresses Possibility of a New BATMAN Trilogy
So far, Warner Bros. has only confirmed one solo movie for Ben Affleck’s Batman, following his role in this fall’s Justice League. But, if The Batman is a big hit, then sequels are inevitable. Would Matt Reeves be open to exploring Batman in a whole trilogy? He shared his thoughts on the possibility in an interview with Fandango. Reeves admits that he already has some ideas for a potential Batman trilogy, but he clearly wants to focus on making a good first movie before committing to sequels. “I have ideas about an arc, but really, the important thing is just to start… you have to start with one. You know,…

20th Century Fox Panel Confirmed for San Diego Comic-Con 2017
The last time 20th Century Fox held a San Diego Comic-Con panel was in 2015, where the studio showcased movies such as Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse. Unfortunately, the footage for both of those movies leaked online, despite being intended to be exclusive to SDCC. As a result, Fox skipped last year’s convention. But this year, the studio is returning. Fox will hold its SDCC panel in Hall H on Thursday, July 20th. The panel runs from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. And that’s literally all we know for sure about the panel. The official description simply reads, “TBA.” Fox has scheduled three Marvel-based movies for next year: New Mutants, Deadpool…

FEATURE: 5 Villains Who Should Be Considered for SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel
Without a doubt, Spider-Man has one of the greatest rogues galleries in comic book history. So far, the movies have featured Green Goblin (twice), Dr. Octopus, Venom, Sandman, “New Goblin,” Lizard, Electro, and Rhino. This summer’s latest reboot, Homecoming, will feature the Vulture, Tinkerer, and Shocker. In addition, Sony is rebooting Venom for his own movie, while films starring Black Cat, Silver Sable, and more are in development. Of course, the list doesn’t stop there. With so many iconic villains, the Homecoming sequels have plenty to choose from. The intended trilogy is also expected to explore new villains, rather than revisiting ones from past films. Below, we’ve compiled a list…

Review: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
Topping Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy was always going to be a difficult task (even if Spider-Man 3 was a mess, which it was). Sony nonetheless gave it another go by rebooting the character, this time with Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) portraying Peter Parker and donning the Spidey costume. Sony tapped 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb (what a fitting last name) to helm their rebooted franchise starting with 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man. I consider that to be the second best Spider-Man film behind Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. Controversial opinion, I know. Webb then returned to direct the sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, which many were looking forward to with…

Matt Reeves Teases THE BATMAN’s “Very Emotional” Story and Influence from Christopher Nolan
Director Matt Reeves has been attached to direct DC Films’ The Batman since earlier this year, but he has been mostly focused on finishing and promoting his most recent film, War for the Planet of the Apes. But with that movie hitting theaters next week, Reeves will soon shift his complete focus to the Dark Knight’s next standalone film. In recent interviews, Reeves has offered a few teases for what type of Batman movie he wants to make. He is interested in exploring a personal story completely from Batman’s point-of-view, taking influence from Alfred Hitchcock’s style of filmmaking. He also has a desire to tell a noir-driven story that utilizes…

Review: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2012)
Before Sony turned to Marvel Studios to revitalize the Spider-Man franchise, the studio tried rebooting on its own. Sony was originally developing a fourth movie with Raimi, who eventually dropped out, putting an end to that version of Spider-Man. The short-lived reboot series kicked off with The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012. Right off the bat, it’s clear that this take on Spider-Man is darker, more contemporary and more realistic than Raimi’s version. The Batman Begins influence is obvious, all the way down to the extensive focus on the origin (again). While I originally wasn’t big on the idea of retelling the origin story step by step again, Amazing Spider-Man does…

Goyer and Justin Rhodes are writing the script, which is based on a story by Goyer and Geoff Johns. Warner Bros.’ casting shortlist for Hal Jordan reportedly includes/included Armie Hammer, James Marsden, and even Ryan Reynolds. Now, we may have a director. According to That Hashtag Show, Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt has signed on to direct Green Lantern Corps. (Turns out Tracking Board EiC Jeff Sneider teased this a couple weeks ago.) His next film, Captive State, is in post-production now, and his schedule…

Alleged X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Plot Details Hint at Magneto's Role
The next installment of the main X-Men series, Dark Phoenix, will see the returns of many characters from previous films. Among them is Erik Lensherr/Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender. In the last three films, Lensherr started out as an ally to Charles Xavier and his team of mutants, before leaving to pursue his own path for mutant civil rights. From there, he has frequently served as both ally and enemy to the X-Men, resorting to whichever fits his agenda. So, will this continue in Dark Phoenix?Nerdist has uncovered some potential plot details for Dark Phoenix, and they offer some hints at Magneto’s role in this particular story. Some possible mild spoilers…
