BIRDS OF PREY Movie Sets 2020 Release Date

Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey movie has been the next DC title to head towards production. The film will see Harley Quinn team up with a slew of female characters from the DC Universe. And sure enough, the ensemble is next up on the slate, as Warner Bros. has confirmed its release date.

The (currently untitled) movie is set to hit theaters on February 7th, 2020. Originally, WB set an untitled DC film for February 14th of that year. However, that date was recently taken by James Bond 25, so the studio has moved it up one week and given the date to Birds of Prey.

The film is set to begin production in January. Casting is currently underway for the roles of Black Canary, Huntress, Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain. Actresses such as Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are said to be in contention for the movie.

Birds of Prey is expected to be the first of several DC films to hit theaters in 2020. The Flash is finally on track to begin shooting next year, while director Matt Reeves hopes to film The Batman in 2019 as well. Green Lantern Corps and Cyborg were originally expected to release in 2020, but those films look rather unlikely at this point.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
