Batman: Arkham City Review
*Also includes a review of the Catwoman DLC Batman: Arkham City (2011) is the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum and it takes everything from the first game and improves upon it. Arkham City also adds new elements that keeps things fresh and exciting. The game’s main storyline involves Batman getting imprisoned in Arkham City, a new supermax prison that was built in the aftermath of the first game. Arkham City is a walled off and rundown section of Gotham City where the city’s criminals are incarcerated (anybody who’s watched Escape from New York (1981) will be familiar with this scenario). The Penguin, Two-Face, and the Joker’s gang are…

Retrospective Review: BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM
Batman: Arkham Asylum was released to critical and commercial acclaim in 2009. It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly ten years since Rocksteady Studio’s Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009) was released. It’s still one of the greatest video games of all time and one of the greatest adaptation of the Batman mythos. The three games from the Arkham trilogy are the greatest superhero video games ever and no other superhero video games have come close to being as good. The plot of the game involves the player taking control of Batman as he attempts to stop the Joker, who has seized control of Arkham Asylum from launching a plan…

FEATURE: Five Actors Who Should Be Considered to Replace Ben Affleck as Batman
For a while, there has been some back-and-forth on whether or not Ben Affleck will play Batman again after Justice League. Originally, he sounded enthusiastic about it, but more recently has cooled down on the idea. The latest report suggests that Affleck will appear in Flashpoint, but director Matt Reeves wants to cast a new actor for The Batman. It’s been speculated that the change in actors will take place in Flashpoint, as it’s been reported that Warner Bros. will explain Affleck’s exit in an upcoming movie (something Affleck himself is interested in). Basically, it looks like Affleck’s days as Batman are numbered. It’s unclear if Reeves wants to cast…

So… Now What? Five Ideas for a Wonder Woman Sequel
It’s here! With Wonder Woman released it’s time for one last speculation piece in Watchtower’s Seven Days of Wonder Woman before we all navel gaze and box office track and chances are as you’re reading this you might have already seen Wonder Woman. Which makes me a little envious of you since it’s Monday morning while I’m writing this and all I have to watch is youtube videos like this: (Actually… I like this video. Kumamon is the man.) Anyway, we’ve looked back for long enough! It’s time to look forward. Let’s ponder possibilities for a Wonder Woman Sequel and what better way to do that than by looking into…

Review: BATMAN: THE TELLTALE SERIES
The Dark Knight returned (pun not intended) to consoles this year in Batman: The Telltale Series. This game is vastly different from his last outing, Batman: Arkham Knight. We follow Bruce Wayne, he’s a more inexperienced Batman and this is his first real battle. The choices you make impact the story. For instance, having the choice to save one character over the other. This leads to slight changes over the course of the story. Now, don’t expect two completely different experiences. They both lead down the same road, but they’re different enough where you will still get enjoyment out of it. Batman has to fight Lady Arkham and the Children Arkham.…

RUMOR: New Details On The Next BATMAN Game
We’ve talked about Warner Bros. Montreal’s next DC game a few times over the last year (click here and here), and while we haven’t heard any official news on their upcoming projects, we do have more clues on what they’re developing. We’ve heard rumors on what these two games might be, but we didn’t report them because they weren’t credible sources. Well now there is so much evidence that we have to talk about it. According to NeoGaf user, Kenzodielocke, WB Montreal is developing a new Batman game. The details are down below! The game has reportedly been set for a summer 2017 release date. It’s set 10 in the future (after Batman: Arkham Knight?) Bruce…

Review: BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE
Hey folks, welcome to the first day of our “10 Days of Suicide Squad” special! Today, John has a review of the brand new DC animated film Batman: The Killing Joke, which is based on the New York Times bestselling graphic novel of the same name from 1988. Considered by many to be one of the best Batman stories out there, does this 72-minute feature film do its source material justice, or is it a disappointment? Let me stop right there. I actually haven’t read the graphic novel. I know. Please forgive me. But I would still like to share my thoughts of the film with you. And maybe you’ll like…

Review: BATMAN & ROBIN
There aren’t many people out there that genuinely think Batman & Robin is a good movie. There are, however, a lot of people that find it so bad that it’s good. I’m one of those people. This movie sucks. It wants to be a cool Batman movie, but it instead is an unintentional comedy complete with laughable character portrayals and cringe-worthy one-liners. Our story finds Batman (George Clooney) and his sidekick Robin (Chris O’Donnell) taking on Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman), and Bane (Jeep Swenson) as Mr. Freeze attempts to freeze over Gotham City. In the opening scene, our titular heroes suit up. Director Joel Schumacher takes the…

Review: BATMAN RETURNS
Batman Returns is director Tim Burton’s second (and final) Batman film. With action, drama, and tons of Burton’s flair; there’s a lot going on in this movie. Mild spoilers are a given in this review (the film is over 20 years old after all). So let’s dive in and take a look back at Batman Returns. The film starts with a flashback giving us our first look at (a baby) Oswald Cobblepot (Danny DeVito). Cobblepot was born with flippers for hands and a pointed nose, almost like a Penguin (get it?). Not only was Oswald born with these birth defects, he also had animal-like instincts. We even see him grab…
