The First Trailer for THE NEW MUTANTS Has Dropped
We finally have our first look at a post-Logan X-Men film. 20th Century Fox dropped the trailer early this morning. The New Mutants is a twist on the X-Men franchise. This film looks to be more of a horror movie. Do we have something new to fear? Find out below. Well, that’s definitely not the X-Men I remember. It’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out. THOR: RAGNAROK Looks to Have a Huge Opening Weekend
We’re starting to get an idea of what Thor’s box office will look like. According to THR, Thor: Ragnarok is currently looking at a $90-$100 million dollar opening weekend in North America. If tracking is correct Ragnarok will pass both Thor ($65.7MM) and Thor: The Dark World ($85.7MM). Thor: Ragnarok looks to be a box office smash for Disney/Marvel. It’s the 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which currently sits at $12.6 billion at the global box office – making it the biggest film franchise in history. BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES is Finally Coming to Blu-Ray
The wait is finally over! During New York Comic-Con it was announced that Batman: The Animated Series will get a Blu Ray release in 2018! It was revealed during show’s 25th-anniversary panel. Warner Bros. representative Gary Miereanu dropped the bombshell while giving away a DVD collection of the show, saying it’ll be the last one he hands out because a remastered Blu-Ray is scheduled to release later in 2018. As of now, we don’t know if the Blu-Ray will use the same four volumes format like the DVDs or if it will be one box set. We also don’t know if it will be in 4K Ultra HD as well as Blu-Ray. Batman:…

SHAZAM! to Cast the Marvel Family?
Shazam! is currently constructing their main cast. They’re already looking for someone to play their lead hero, but now That Hashtag Show is reporting that they’re also looking cast four additional members of the Shazam Family. Our friends at Omega Underground released an audition tape for the film and believe that it’s for the character Freddy Freeman – Billy Batson’s best friend. That Hashtag Show is adding that not only is Freddy Freeman in the film but three others as well. The studio is looking for children to play “Daniel”, “Carlos”, and “Suzy”. GAMBIT Lands a Director (Again)
It looks like Gambit will live to fight another day. The film has been in development hell and has struggled to keep anyone not named Channing Tatum attached to the project. Well, Deadline is reporting that Gore Verbinski (A Cure for Wellness) will direct the film, and Tatum is still signed on to star. Previously, the film had Doug Liman (American Made) and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) attached to direct, but both eventually dropped out. During New York Comic-Con we got our first looks at Marvel’s latest project, Runaways. The Hulu original is based on the comic of the same name.
