THE FLASH Pilot Finds Its Iris West In THE GAME’s Candice Patton
The CW’s Flash pilot has found its female lead. According to Deadline, Candice Patton – known for her roles in television shows The Game and Sorority Forever – had landed the role of Iris West in the planned Arrow spin-off. Iris is described as “[Barry] Allen’s fast-talking, quick-witted best friend who is also the daughter of Detective West, who serves as a surrogate father to Barry.” Grant Gustin is reprising his role as Allen, while Jesse L. Martin will play Detective West. Additionally, The Flash will feature Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne and Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow. One other role remaining to be filled is that of Cisco Ramon, the alter ego of DC Comics superhero Vibe. The Flash will be filmed in March, and if ordered to series, it will likely premiere on The CW next fall.
