Grant Gustin’s Flash and Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl Meet on Variety Cover to Honor Producer Greg Berlanti
Despite CBS’ Supergirl being created by the same team behind Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, there is currently no hurry to integrate Kara Zor-El into the DC CW Universe. All of these shows are being produced by Greg Berlanti, who is the subject of the latest cover of Variety.
This cover features Berlanti alongside The Flash star Grant Gustin and Supergirl‘s Melissa Benoist, both of whom are in costume as their respective superheroes. So, while the two shows may or may not cross over, we have a nice visual idea of what it would be like.
Variety has also published a feature focused on Berlanti’s impressive career. The producer recalls being pitched by DC to do Supergirl, and he had a vision to make it even larger in scale than The Flash. CBS jumped at this opportunity, and despite rumors, the show was never going to revert to The CW.

The Flash season finale premieres tomorrow night on The CW, while Supergirl debuts in November on CBS.
