Arrow, Season 4, Episode 7, ‘Brotherhood’ Review
[This is a full spoiler review for Arrow Season 4, Episode 7, so be warned.] Arrow’s doing something new. A lot of things new, actually, although you wouldn’t believe it when the episode opens with a truck heist. Or when that heist is stopped by a mob of masked vigilantes. Or when some characters make stubborn decisions that don’t seem to make any sense.Despite all these tired cliches that have come to personify this show, it is actually going in some fresh and new directions.First, before I get to the actual episode, my hat is off to Gordon Verheul. Gordon has directed almost 2 dozen episodes of Arrow at this…

GOTHAM Review: Tonight’s The Night
Warning: This review contains spoilers Barbara is back! Every time Barbara and Jim interact we are in for a treat. With Galavan needing Jim distracted the reasoning behind Barbara appearing felt natural. What makes this season better than the last is that it is more focused, not one episode has felt like filler so far which helps keep the audience interested. With Galavan finally letting Barbara off of her leash she is ready get what she’s always wanted, the chance to kill Jim Gordon. She casually walks in to the GCPD (which has worse security than S.T.A.R. Labs,), and asks to speak to Jim. Gordon decides to speak with Barbara, and tries…

After 5 years in hell, he came back to adopt the mantle of The Arrow, and started violently punishing criminals that were tearing his city apart. Through the years, he’s collected some new friends, as well as some new enemies that wanted to bring Starling City to its knees. Despite Oliver’s most drastic actions of becoming Ra’s al Ghul, heir to the demon, and leader of the League of Assassins, Starling City, now re-branded Star City has descended into chaos. The citizens are leaving,…

GOTHAM Review; Scarification
Warning: This review contains spoilers The first few episodes of ‘Gotham’ were a vast improvement on last season. The tine was more consistent, the villains are better and Bruce is not the focal point of the story. Some of that changes is this episode. We see that the Penguin is still trying to find his mother, and his worrying driving him insane. This is an interesting arc for the Penguin. I believed that he would be more in control and strong. After the progress of the last season. I didn’t think he would return to wining like the first season. Though It is justified after what Galavan has put him through. Galavan’s real plan was…

Arrow, Season 4, Episode 2, ‘The Candidate,’ Review
[This is a full review, and there will be spoilers.] After the season 4 premier episode puts Team Arrow right back where we left them, episode 2 wastes no time in introducing new plot elements. While many appear quite promising for the long haul of season 4, one can’t help but feel some of the extra threads could also become cumbersome quite quickly. Whereas episode 1 was very much focused on the lack of leadership and the void left by the absence of The Arrow, episode 2 is very much about Leadership. Jessica Danforth decides to run for Mayor, Felicity struggles to convince the Palmer Technologies board of directors (and…

Arrow, Season 4, Episode 1 ‘Green Arrow’ Review
[Warning: This is a full spoiler review.] After an overall underwhelming 3rd season, Arrow Season 4 kicks things off with an entirely fresh take. Oliver and Felicity have settled in to a suburban lifestyle, and are trying to live a domesticated life, having brunch with neighbors, and learning to become better cooks. Oliver still wears a green hoodie from time to time, but he’s gotten the dragon tattoo that memorialized Shado removed as he tries to move beyond his past life, and he’s even preparing to propose to Felicity. Unfortunately, the fresh take stops there. Things are not so different in the city formerly known as Starling city. Some things…

GOTHAM Review: The Last Laugh
Warning: this review contains spoilers After last week’s shocking ending, we find Jim and Harvey trying to find a lead on the Maniax case. This episode starts off strong with a fun interrogation scene with Gordon and Bullock. It’s nice to have the two working together again. Harvey and Jim have good chemistry and make the episode. Hopefully they can keep this for the remainder of the season, because things are about to get weird. We see Jerome and Barbara at his father’s house. Jerome plans on blaming his father for his escape from Arkham Asylum, setting up evidence that makes it look as if the whole plan was his idea. His…

GOTHAM Review: Knock, Knock
Warning: This review contains spoilers In the second episode of Gotham’s sophomore season, we see yet another solid episode. We still have some issues with the tone and pacing, but it was a lot better than previous episodes. We start off with the Maniax, which is apparently what our team of psychopaths’ are calling themselves. They are on the roof of the Gotham Gazette, and are spray-painting the letters M-A-N-I-A-X-! on helpless reports as they throw them of the roof and onto the street. They want the people of Gotham to be in fear of them. They want to be in control of Gotham City. This is what makes the lack of the Penguin is this episode so…
