LEGION to End After Season 3; Professor X Will Appear
So far, FX‘s Legion has run for two seasons, with a third on the way. Unfortunately for fans, all good things must come to an end, as the network had an announcement to make.
Legion‘s third season will be its last, FX confirmed at the Television Critics Association (TCA) tour. The reasoning is that creator Noah Hawley always envisioned a three-season run, and he is still committed to that. The season will premiere sometime in June.
In addition, the series will finally introduce David Haller‘s father in season three. Actor Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones) is set to play Professor X, aka Charles Xavier. Fans have speculated about Patrick Stewart or James McAvoy reprising the role, which would have tied Legion to the X-Men film series. However, the show is going in a different direction. In addition, Stephanie Corneliussen (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) will play David’s mother, Gabrielle Haller.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
