FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 6×18- “Pay the Piper”
The Flash (6×18)- “Pay the Piper” Written by: Jess Carson Directed by: Amanda Tapping This week opens with Joe in witness protection and he’s looking like most people are feeling after six weeks of house arrest- I mean, “quarantine.” That is to say, frustrated and crazy. Uh-oh, he’s hearing voices… but since they’re voices recapping his situation I don’t think he’s crazy yet. Joe then pulls a gun on a dark corner of the room… Maybe- Nah! Barry emerges from the shadows looking like a guy that literally lost a fight with a mirror and he tells Joe about the Iris dilemma. Joe points out all the things they should…

5 Live Action Disney Remakes That Could Actually Work
Disney has become known to remake many of its classic animated movies. This trend has seen its ups and downs, as well as a few critics. But when they are successful, they hit big. Movies like The Lion King and Beauty & The Beast grossed over $1 billion apiece, while The Jungle Book came close to that figure and earned rave reviews with groundbreaking technology. Recently, it was announced that Hercules is being remade, and many more remakes are on the way. Of course, as long as these movies make money, we’re going to get more and more of them. But that doesn’t mean all of them are good ideas.…

Why Henry Cavill Needs to Play Superman Again
DC‘s movie universe began in 2013 with the release of Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill as Superman. Since then, Cavill has reprised the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, cementing him as one of the faces of the franchise. He was expected to star in more movies, but then doubt entered the picture. Justice League‘s sequels were cancelled, Shazam! had a headless Superman cameo, and even plans for another Superman standalone film were put on hold. In 2018, it was reported that Warner Bros. was moving away from Superman, and Cavill would not reprise the role. The actor has remained hopeful that he will…

5 Video Game Movies That Are Actually Good
Movie adaptations of video games are notorious for being bad. Whether it’s Super Mario Bros., Assassin’s Creed or the Resident Evil series, the subgenre has not been the most successful. They tend to either receive terrible reviews from fans and critics, flop at the box office, or both. However, like any film genre, there are a few good movies. Very few, but they exist nonetheless. Below, we list five video game movies that we consider to be good. We will be focusing on actual video game adaptations, rather than movies that are about video games. So, we will not be including Wreck-It Ralph, Ready Player One, the Jumanji movies, or…

Review: TRIALS OF MANA (Nintendo Switch)
Square Enix gives us another JRPG, this time in the form of Trials of Mana. When the legendary Mana Tree is withering, it’s up to a group of heroes to save it. Right from the start, the player finds the main reasons why the game has such high replay value. The game gives the player access to six different characters, with their own set of skills and origin. With these six characters, the player chooses three of them as their playable characters. In essence, the story is the same no matter who the main character of your choice is. However, the key difference is the beginning and the end due…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 6×17- “Liberation”
The Flash (6×17)- “Liberation” Written by: Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza Directed by: Jeff Byrd We start off with Cisco, Ralph and Barry making at first attempt at the reboot of the Speed Force and it goes about as well as you’d expect any attempt at something like this to be while we’re still in late Act Two of our story arc. A whole lot of noise, then a whole lot of nothing. (To be fair, there were some promising signs to suggest that something will reignite the Speed Force but we’ll get there.) That’s when Cecile shows up trying to get Barry and Iris to reconcile but Barry’s not…

Yes, Batman Kills Sometimes – But Should He?
So, recently my good friend Paul wrote a feature on why it’s okay for Batman to kill. It’s a great piece and shows both sides of the argument. However, I think we can go just a little bit deeper. Yes, Batman has killed villains and will, without a doubt, do it again soon, but should he? Finding The Bat’s Identity Batman has had a long 80-year comic book run and plenty of different adaptations by several writers. We should go back to the source. As Paul mentioned in the previous post, Batman killed in his first few appearances. The character was still new and was staying true to that pulp/gritty…

Review: A Parks & Recreation Special
The world of entertainment seems have come to a screeching halt as of late, thanks to COVID-19, so blockbuster movies from the likes of No Time To Die and Black Widow (among dozens of others) have been pushed back to later in the year, tentpole television shows like Falcon & The Winter Soldier and Stranger Things 4 have halted production, and some of the most highly anticipated films of 2021 like The Batman and Jurassic World: Dominion have paused filming. That didn’t stop showrunner Mike Schur from giving the world a brand new episode of his beloved workplace sitcom Parks & Recreation, five years after the series finale; and all…

Yes, Batman Kills Sometimes – And That’s OK
It’s one of the most hotly debated issues in comic book history. It has broken the Internet, fractured friendships, and affected how people view fictional characters. I am, of course, talking about the discussions regarding Batman‘s “no-kill rule.” On the one hand, we have people who believe Batman shouldn’t kill in any situation, period. On the other hand, we have people who want Batman to kill his enemies. Both are valid viewpoints, but are either of them factual? Batman is a character who needs no introduction. He has existed in comics for over 80 years, and he has been adapted in countless films and television shows. This has led to…
