Greg Berlanti Talks BLACK LIGHTNING Involvement and The CW’s Four-Show DC Crossover
Greg Berlanti is one of the busiest producers in the television industry right now. He is essentially the godfather of The CW’s “Arrowverse,” consisting of DC shows Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the animated series Vixen. Berlanti’s Supergirl (set on an alternate Earth) is joining the other shows next season, while another animated show, Freedom Fighters: The Ray, is coming soon. And that’s not all: It was recently announced that Berlanti is also working on Black Lightning, starring the DC Comics hero of the same name. Berlanti is collaborating with husband-wife duo Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil on this project. But unlike Berlanti’s other DC shows, Black Lightning is…

BLACK LIGHTNING Television Pilot Lands at Fox
Last week, it was revealed that DC TV mastermind Greg Berlanti is working on a potential series starring Black Lightning. Berlanti is developing the project with husband/wife duo Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. Now, the project has found a network. It has been announced (via TV Line) that Fox has picked up the pilot for Black Lightning. This would serve as Fox’s third current DC project. Gotham is entering its third season on the network this fall, while Vertigo adaptation Lucifer is going into its second. Black Lightning will focus on Jefferson Pierce, who retired as the vigilante Black Lightning years ago. But with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a…

Over the past couple years, DC Entertainment has significantly increased its live action television portfolio. The company has Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on The CW, while Fox is airing Gotham and Lucifer. NBC will premiere Powerless in the midseason. TV is developing Black Lightning, based on the superhero of the same name. The project is being developed by Greg Berlanti, who is involved with all four of The CW’s DC shows. He is working with Being Mary…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 8×03- “Armageddon, Part 3”
The Flash (08×03)- “Armageddon, Part 3″ Written by: Sam Chalsen Directed by: Chris Peppe So we left off with Barry telling Black Lightning about “Injustice” and it turns out that wasn’t just Barry being dramatic. It seems that “Injustice” is a protocol for taking the powers from a member that is going rogue. Barry explains everything that’s been going on and Jefferson is (logically) hesitant. After all, that’s (supposed to be) a permanent solution to what might be a temporary problem. He tries to get Barry to relax for a moment but let’s be real here has asking someone to calm down ever actually worked? In the end, Jefferson…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 8×02- “Armageddon, Part 2”
The Flash (08×02)- “Armageddon, Part 2″ Written by: Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza Directed by: Menhaj Huda Major Spoiler Warning for Fight Club. I’ll spoil the Flash all day long, it’s in the title but this serves as both a high recommendation of the film and the novel it’s based upon and your only warning. Spoilers ahead. We pick up pretty much where we left off last week but despite their agreement, Despero put Barry on his back to test his abilities and healing. Meaning he now knows exactly what it will take to kill Barry. Well, that’s nice. Barry then asks the million dollar question, why did he…

The Legacy of ARROW – Eight Seasons and a Universe
Arrow started as a show about a guy wanting to atone for his father’s sins. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was nothing more than a rich douchebag who only cared about himself. After five years in hell, and eight years as the hero vigilante, the Green Arrow – Oliver became a god and helped usher in a new universe. This is the Legacy of Arrow. Let’s rewind a bit and take a look at what this show was initially. The CW, a Warner Brothers television network, previously had massive success with Smallville. A series that centered around a young Clark Kent and his adventures before he became the Man of Steel,…

The CW Renews All Five DC Shows and RIVERDALE

The Flash will be back for a sixth season. Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are heading to their fifth seasons. Black Lightning‘s back for a third season. Riverdale will return for a fourth season. All six of these shows have been among The CW’s biggest successes, so there was little doubt that they’d be renewed.
