The Disney+ streaming service will be home to a lot of original shows, such as Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The show, overseen by Jon Favreau, takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows a lone gunfighter in the galaxy. Now, casting has begun.
As previously rumored, Pedro Pascal (Wonder Woman 1984) is set to lead The Mandalorian. Meanwhile, Gina Carano (Deadpool) has also signed on for a key role in the show. Further details on their characters are currently being kept under wraps.
After cancelling the Boba Fett movie, Lucasfilm is shifting focus to The Mandalorian. The show has a star-studded slate of directors, such as Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, and Bryce Dallas Howard. This is also one of several Star Wars originals in development for Disney+, alongside a new season of The Clone Wars and a prequel series starring Cassian Andor.
Stay tuned for more as we have it.
