STARGIRL Series Coming to DC Universe

We have news of a fourth live action show coming to the DC Universe streaming service! Stargirl will be the show, with Sarah Scheer, Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns to produce. Berlanti and Johns will write the scripts up for the show, with it having 13 episodes in total. The show will air at some point in 2019, and will focus on high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires a group of young heroes to stop villains from the past. It will be a reimagining of Stargirl and the very first team of superheroes, the Justice Society of America, and be PG-13.

This show is near and dear to Johns’ heart, as he created the character based on his sister Courtney who died in the 1996 explosion of TWA Flight 800. Stargirl made her first appearance in July 1999’s Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E #1. He revealed at his panel he was happy to be able to run the show, that if he had stayed as DC’s Chief Creative Officer, he would not have been able to work on the show.
