Zazie Beetz in Talks to Join JOKER Movie

It’s full steam ahead on Warner Bros.’ Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix. The film just got a release date this week, and now, the studio is looking to fill out the supporting cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Zazie Beetz is in talks to join Joker. If a deal closes, she will play a single mother who catches the attention of the future Joker. Any further details are being kept under wraps. This will mark Beetz’ second comic book role, after playing Domino in Deadpool 2 – a role she will reprise in the X-Force movie.

This latest move further cements Joker‘s commitment to casting top talent. Robert De Niro has been rumored for a role (which, by the way, our friend Mario says is definitely happening), while Frances McDormand reportedly passed on playing Joker’s mother. It will be super interesting to see the final cast.

Joker will begin shooting this September for an October 4th, 2019 release.
