Joaquin Phoenix’s JOKER Gets a 2019 Release Date
Things are moving very quickly on Warner Bros.’ Joker origin movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Todd Phillips. Now, we have confirmation on both a title and release date.
Per THR, the film – simply titled Joker – is set to hit theaters on October 4th, 2019. The movie begins production in September, so this will be a fast turnaround for a comic book film. Then again, the budget is only $55 million, meaning that it can use less post-production time than movies with 3-4 times that budget.
Joker will go up against Gemini Man and The Woman in the Window on its date, with movies like Dwayne Johnson’s Jungle Cruise arriving later that month. Additionally, Joker is out one month before DC’s most anticipated upcoming film, Wonder Woman 1984.
