Former Flash Actor John Wesley Shipp Cast In The CW’s THE FLASH Pilot

John Wesley Shipp is best known for playing Barry Allen in the 1990s television series The Flash. He is by far the most recognizable live action incarnation of the Scarlet Speedster to date; so much so, many have speculated that he will have some sort of role in The CW’s planned Flash series. Now, that will indeed be the case.
The network has confirmed that Shipp has been cast in a guest star role in the Arrow spin-off pilot, which stars Grant Gustin as Allen. His character is unknown, but it is expected to be a recurring role if the pilot is ordered to series. It is currently speculated that Shipp will play Jay Garrick, the original Flash in the comics, or Barry Allen’s imprisoned father, wrongly accused of murdering Nora Allen. We’ll just have to wait for more details to come in the near future.
Joining Gustin and Shipp in The Flash are Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, and Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells. The pilot will be filmed in March, and if ordered to series, it will likely premiere on The CW next fall.
