5 More DC Movies That Should Get a Spinoff Series on HBO Max

    July 11, 2020 / 0 Comments

Since its launch, HBO Max has added many high-profile originals to its programming lineup. Most prominently, DC Entertainment has been the source of some originals. These range from Doom Patrol (a co-production with DC Universe) to a Green Lantern series to even Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Most recently, it was announced that Matt Reeves’ The Batman is getting a spinoff series, focusing on the film’s Gotham City Police Department. HBO Max will continue to add DC originals to its slate, and some can be rooted in preexisting movies. DC has an extensive film history, especially in recent years. Any of them can have a spinoff series that takes place in…

5 Live Action DC Worlds That Weren’t in CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS

    February 3, 2020 / 0 Comments

The CW‘s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event was insanely ambitious. It expanded the Arrowverse‘s multiverse to include countless live action adaptations of DC Comics. Everything from Titans to Batman 1989 to DC Films to even the Green Lantern movie were represented. And that’s not including the returns of Brandon Routh’s Superman, Tom Welling’s Clark Kent, and more. To see all of these characters on screen again, and to see the DC Multiverse truly unified, was a sight to behold. However, as massive as its scope was, Crisis on Infinite Earths did not include every single live action DC property. Below, we list five DC adaptations that didn’t make the…

JOKER Movie Casts its Alfred and Young Bruce Wayne

    October 24, 2018 / 0 Comments

In addition to focusing on its titular character, Joker will feature Batman characters such as Thomas Wayne. Now, the film has added two more characters to its cast. Actors Dante Pereira-Olson (You Were Never Really Here) and Douglas Hodge (The Night Manager) have joined Joker as Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively. (Shoutout to our friends at Revenge of the Fans for breaking the news on Pereira-Olson’s casting.) No details are known on how Bruce and Alfred fit into this particular story, but it’s clear that Joker will explore a time before the Wayne parents are murdered. Also, in this continuity, Joker seems to be a lot older than Bruce,…

First Official Look at Joaquin Phoenix as the Future JOKER

    September 16, 2018 / 0 Comments

Warner Bros. has begun production on its Joker movie, which stars Joaquin Phoenix as the future villain in a new origin story. While we wait for a press release announcing the start of filming, we have a first-look photo from the movie. Director Todd Phillips shared a first look at Phoenix’s character, named Arthur Fleck. Fleck is clearly lacking the Joker’s signature makeup and green hair, but that’s kind of the point. The movie will be a character study that examines Fleck’s descent into madness, and it is expected to be extremely different from past Jokers. Check it out below, and stay tuned for more as we have it. View…

Alec Baldwin Has Already Exited JOKER Movie

    August 29, 2018 / 1 Comment

Two days ago, it was reported that Alec Baldwin had joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ Joker movie as Thomas Wayne, aka the father of Bruce Wayne/Batman. It was a fun thought while it lasted, however. Baldwin tells USA Today that he has dropped out of Joker, citing a scheduling conflict. “I’m no longer doing that movie. I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.” Scheduling conflicts happen all the time, but it’s odd how Baldwin cites it just two days after his casting was first reported. Wouldn’t something like that be decided upon beforehand? Thomas Wayne is reportedly being depicted as a “cheesy and tanned” businessman, compared to 1980s…

JOKER Casts Alec Baldwin as Thomas Wayne

    August 27, 2018 / 1 Comment

Warner Bros.’ Joker movie has been assembling a truly impressive cast for a comic book film. Joaquin Phoenix is set to play the future Clown Prince of Crime, with Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and more filling out the supporting cast. Now, the latest casting confirms the presence of a key DC Comics character. Actor Alec Baldwin is joining Joker as none other than Thomas Wayne, aka Bruce Wayne/Batman’s father. Traditionally, Wayne is depicted as a physician and philanthropist. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, this movie will portray Wayne as a “cheesy and tanned” businessman, a la 1980s Donald Trump. Given Baldwin’s performance as Trump on SNL, this move makes…

JOKER Gets a Composer; Joaquin Phoenix Not Worried About Fan Pressure

    August 23, 2018 / 0 Comments

We have a couple news tidbits for Warner Bros.’ Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the future Clown Prince of Crime. First up, composer Hildur Gudnadottir has been hired to score Joker. Gudnadottir previously scored this summer’s Sicario: Day of the Soldado. She also works on the Icelandic show Trapped. This news comes after DC’s other 2019 movies, Shazam! and Wonder Woman 1984, recruited composers. In other news, Joaquin Phoenix took the time to talk with IndieWire about the inevitable fan pressure of playing The Joker. Fortunately, he’s not too worried about it. “I could care less. I don’t really think that much about what people think. Who cares, who cares? My…
