First Official Look at Joaquin Phoenix as the Future JOKER

Warner Bros. has begun production on its Joker movie, which stars Joaquin Phoenix as the future villain in a new origin story. While we wait for a press release announcing the start of filming, we have a first-look photo from the movie.

Director Todd Phillips shared a first look at Phoenix’s character, named Arthur Fleck. Fleck is clearly lacking the Joker’s signature makeup and green hair, but that’s kind of the point. The movie will be a character study that examines Fleck’s descent into madness, and it is expected to be extremely different from past Jokers.
