Director Doug Liman Exits JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Movie

Last year, director Doug Liman came on board to tackle DC’s Justice League Dark movie, replacing Guillermo del Toro. In the past few weeks, Liman has been hyping up his take on the source material, promising a more personal and character-driven film. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing that take…at least with Liman behind the camera.

Variety confirms that Liman has dropped out of directing Justice League Dark. The reason behind the exit is a scheduling conflict. Liman is attached to direct Lionsgate’s Chaos Walking, which just got the greenlight.

However, Warner Bros. is already in the process of meeting with new directors. According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the directors on the shortlist is Andy Muschietti, whose It remake will be released by WB/New Line this fall. A new director is expected to be hired soon.

Justice League Dark is being written by Michael Gilio, with Scott Rudin producing.
