TV Casting: DC Universe Casts STARGIRL, Arrowverse Crossover Finds its Villain
We have a couple of big DC TV casting updates. DC Universe has found the titular hero of its next original series, while this year’s Arrowverse crossover now has a villain. The Goldbergs actress Brec Bassinger is set to star as Courtney Whitmore in Stargirl, a new show on DC Universe. The series revolves around Whitmore, a high school sophomore who is adjusting to a new school in Blue Valley, Nebraska. Along the way, she discovers that her stepfather used to be a superhero’s sidekick, and with a cosmic staff, she will inspire a new generation of heroes. In today’s edition of TV News Bits, we have new details on Stargirl, The Flash, Iron Fist and more. Let’s get started! Our good friends at GWW dropped an exclusive on the Stargirl series. They learned that Wildcat will make an appearance during the show’s first season. Now, this isn’t the original Ted Grant version of the character. This will be Yolanda Montez, the goddaughter of Ted Grant. Yolanda will be attending Blue Valley High alongside Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl). STARGIRL Series Coming to DC Universe
We have news of a fourth live action show coming to the DC Universe streaming service! Stargirl will be the show, with Sarah Scheer, Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns to produce. Berlanti and Johns will write the scripts up for the show, with it having 13 episodes in total. The show will air at some point in 2019, and will focus on high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires a group of young heroes to stop villains from the past.
