Today, we have news on one of ABC’s Marvel projects, a premiere date for Cloak & Dagger season two, an update on FX’s Y: The Last Man adaptation, confirmation of more The Walking Dead, and casting for the next Riverdale spinoff. ABC previously ordered a pilot for a female-led Marvel series, from Wonder Woman screenwriter Allan Heinberg. Unfortunately, the network has passed on the pilot. Despite this, ABC is still interested in…

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Already Renewed for Season 7
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be back for its season six premiere until next summer, but the Marvel series is already confirmed to live on beyond that. ABC has announced that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return for a seventh season. Despite the show’s consistently low ratings, ABC has shown confidence in its creative direction. It is also an opportunity to push the Marvel brand on a weekly basis. No premiere date for season seven has been confirmed yet, but expect it to begin sometime in 2020. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended its fifth season this year on a major cliffhanger, leaving the fates of two lead characters in the balance. It will be…

But ABC has talked about bringing in a new Marvel series soon, specifically with a female lead. And now, it’s moving forward. Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg is developing an untitled Marvel series for ABC, which has given it a production commitment. The show is about female superheroes in the Marvel Universe, and it is expected to focus on lesser-known characters. No word on who exactly those characters…

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Shifting to Summer for Season 6
Despite being one of the network’s lowest-rated shows, ABC renewed Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a sixth season. The new season will run for 13 episodes, which is a much smaller order than the usual 22. While it was originally reported to be held until midseason, it turns out we’re gonna have to wait even longer. ABC announced at Upfronts today (via TV Line) that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be back until summer 2019. Network president Channing Dungey says that this was ABC’s decision, and the network hopes that the summer slot will bring more success to the show, and thus, keep it running longer. ABC Renews AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. for Season 6 – With a Catch
While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has received solid buzz from fans and critics with each season, the show has had a decline in ratings for some time now. The fact that ABC placed this season in the dreaded Friday night slot didn’t help any. Fans have wondered if the show would be renewed or not, especially with co-showrunner Jed Whedon saying that the season five finale could work as a series finale if need be. Now, we have an answer. ABC has confirmed (via TV Line) that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been renewed for a sixth season. The catch? The season will only run for 13 episodes. All five seasons prior…

ABC Finally Cancels INHUMANS After One Season
Back in September, ABC premiered its latest Marvel show, Inhumans, which was made in collaboration with IMAX. The eight-episode series was trashed by fans and critics, while ratings were mediocre. So, this news shouldn’t be surprising….except for how long it took to announce it. ABC has confirmed (via TV Line) that Inhumans has been cancelled after just one season. Based on the show’s reception, literally everyone saw this coming. But it’s surprising to see ABC wait until the last minute to confirm it. The series’ last episode aired in November. With Inhumans out of the way, attention is now turned to ABC’s other Marvel show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Despite low ratings, the…

Review: INHUMANS Episode 3: "Divide and Conquer"
It can only get better from here, folks. Right? Someone please tell me I’m right…Hello? Is that you, Existential Void? Don’t just hover there, SAY SOMETHING! “Divide and Conquer” picks up where Episode 2 left off. The royal family is still divided, Maximus is still making power grabs, and Lockjaw is *still* asleep. Oh, boy. The lack of any movement or development between Episodes 2 and 3 is striking. As it turns out, Gorgon’s surfer bro pals are ex-military, and the crew decide to stage an ambush for Maximus’ lackeys. Medusa continues her search for Black Bolt by shouting at an ATM to give her money, which eventually leads her to steal…

Review: INHUMANS Episode 2: "Those Who Would Destroy Us"
Oh, the Inhumanity! “Those Who Would Destroy Us,” you sure are something. After the pilot split everyone up and deposited the royals in Hawaii, Sly Spy The Iron Fist Guy takes the show in a fish-out-of-water direction. Black Bolt is causing crashes, stealing suits, and totaling police cars. Medusa is hitchiking on a tour bus and rocking the shaved head look. Gorgon is palling around with surfer bros. Karnak falls off a cliff and looses his sense of direction. Crystal is locked in her apartment. Lockjaw is sleeping (seriously). And Maximus… schemes, and stuff. So… um… that’s the episode. And that’s the problem. Episode 1 made a point to set-up…
