EW has learned Djimon Hounsou has been cast in Shazam! He’ll be playing the 3,000 year-old sorcerer that grants young Billy Batson his powers. Now, you may be asking… … but the Kree mercenary Korath the Pursuer that adult Peter Quill runs into when he’s first introduced to the audience was played by Hounsou. Warner Bros. and DEADPOOL 2 Will Dominate San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 21st
The Saturday, July 21st schedule for San Diego Comic-Con 2018 has been released. In addition to confirming one key panel, a couple more have been revealed. First up, Warner Bros. will hold its Hall H panel from 10:30 am to 12:30 PM. The panel description simply reads, “Get a first look at the studio’s highly anticipated future releases. Films and special panelists TBA.” It has already been announced that the Aquaman trailer will premiere here, while Shazam! and Wonder Woman 1984 are also expected. James Wan Reportedly Set to Co-Direct SWAMP THING Pilot
Last month, it was announced that DC is developing a new Swamp Thing show for its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. One very interesting thing is that it is being executive produced by James Wan, who directs DC Films’ next title, Aquaman. Now, it looks like Wan will have another role to play. According to That Hashtag Show, Wan is on board to direct the Swamp Thing pilot alongside Deran Sarafian. While Sarafian doesn’t have the blockbuster experience than Wan has, he has a history of directing for television, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and House.
